The first image featured here is my first of 2022. And what a beauty it was! One thing I've realised is that the best haleem and in the city are to be found in the Hyderabadi households. And this Haleem from Food Hosts, prepared by Heer, was divine. Perfectly balanced with a lovely texture and the right ratio of meat to wheat. You can order a full Nizami spread by Heer from .

But it's not just khaana. FoodHosts is a platform that brings together some of the most talented chefs from the city. Artisinal, authentic, and rare. Head to FoodHosts.in to unearth hidden cullinary gems. Currently, they've everything from French to Bengali to Pan Asian. Take your pick from over 25 chefs and book your meal. I also ordered from The Pork Affair, which offers an incredible home style Pork Pulao and a deeply marinated, patiently pan seared Pork Chop. If you're a , this homechef is a must try!

FoodHosts is great for the times when you pamper yourself with some beyond the popular commercial fare. But it's even better when you want to wow your guests at house parties and get-togethers. They also offer catering for events (5 to 70 pax)!

going places! I've featured this accesible gem from the house of before. was one of the first markets it launched in. But now, it has spread its wings far and wide and has gone pan India, including tier-3 citie and towns.

It's a blend crafted by legendary Shinji Fukuyo incorporating both scotch and bourbone. The OakSmith is designed to work well with soda and ice. But, if you're looking to take things up a notch, without having to put a lot of effort, fashion a simple highball with gingerale and muddled basil. Oaksmith is one of the best in its category. Try it out, and bring 2021 to a close on high spirits.

The The Tangra Project team, lead by Chef Vikramjit Roy , is stationed at Mercure Hyderabad KCP until Dec 19. Bengali food festivals at star hotels in are a frequent occurance (esp around Poila Boishakh and Durga Pujo). Tangra Project is serving , yes. And it's excellent Bengali food. From very authentic and very homely Cauliflower gravy and Sunday Mutton curry to elevated streetfood like Fish Kobiraji. But it's so much more than that!

Chef Vikramjit Roy's passion for the culinary art is expressed via a riot of colours, aromas, and flavours. The Tangra Project is an ode to the food from Bengal, which celebrates the Colonial, Mughal, and Hakka settler influences on the food of . Text me if you're interested in a peep at the menu. But this festival gets two thumbs up from me. Try not to miss it.

If you love spirits, is definitely the place you'd want to be. is another that impresses. It's a refined, understated gin that works great on the rocks. Floral with a prominent burst of citrus and juniper on the nose. There's a hint of spice and earthy undertones. But that's quite subdued. This is the best gin that I've tried in its price band (below Rs.1500).

Make your house parties and family events dazzle with regal fare from (). They take orders across the twin cities for events featuring anywhere between 10 to 500 guests. The menu is quintessential hyderbadi khaana featuring Marag, Lukmi, Haleem, Biryani, and more. They sent me a sampler, that was quite impressive. All of the dishes gave me little room for complaint. Unsurprisingly, the Zafrani Mutton Biryani accompanied by a luscious salan was the star. DM me in case you want a look at their full menu.

Hyderabad's favourite now comes in a ! Quaint, with a 90s vibe. The cutesy packaging also ensures a fairly long shelf-life sans preservatives. The same great taste, now with added convinience. Pick it up from to have on the go or stock up in your fridge.

Some snaps from my decadent Edo experience at . If you're in , this is one of the must try experiences. Classic cuisine with a modern presentation. Each dish by carefully packs multiple layers of flavours to create magic. Whether it's the Yuzu Miso sauce in the Yellowtail and Avocado tartare or the Matcha Salt in the Grilled Chicken and Leek skewers. A recent introduction is the fantastic - rice with braised chicken, spinach, pickled cucumbers, and scallion. It's perfect as a comforting meal on a lazy weekend or a quick working lunch. I could keep going on and on about the Edo experience. But, really, you need to try it for yourself. And if you do, don't forget to end with their signature black sesame icecream.

Glimpses from the recently relaunched at . Featuring live music, a spread that's tuned to the local palate, and a tempting offer. The spread plays it safe and covers a fair bit of ground. Live counters for grills and chaat, a salad and mezze station, cheese island, and a whole host of Indian and Indo-Chinese. It's an alluring proposition if you're looking to have a good time with family over a casual Sunday lunch.

.world, a by , brings together a medley of local and global influences to curate a sinful bouquet of . She sent me a assorted sample of her desserts. My favourites were the Apple Galette and the Basundi. But pretty much everything she sent was great!

A decadent Basundi that dials up the indulgence factor with coconut and caramel. A soulful Manipuri kheer made from black rice. Supremely addictive cinnamon coated . A perfectly textured Apple Galette made with puff pastry.

Another thing I appreciate is that the menu lists the amount of added sugar in every dessert Swipe through the images for a closer look.
