It was an action-packed night at Limerick on Saturday as, alongside the 3rd Round heats of the TIME Club Derby, the opening round of the West Limerick Treaty Cup Open 350 also took centre stage.

Always one of the highlights of the sprinting calendar, the 2026 renewal carries a winner's prize of €5,000 and early indications suggest it will take a serious performance to lift the trophy, with just two lengths separating the three heat winners on the night.

We’re getting down to the nitty-gritty in the 2026 TIME Club Graders Derby at Limerick, with six heats set to go down for decision tonight as the remaining contenders battle for places in next week’s quarter-finals.

The competition took a dramatic turn last weekend when a host of heat winners were sent packing, leaving the Derby wide open. Given the nature of the Graders Derby, where the margins between the runners are often razor-thin, there is no standout favourite at this stage. As a result, a number of leading hopes remain firmly in contention for outright honours as the battle for the €20,000 prize intensifies. The 28.90 stipulation will be a thing of the past from here on in, so expect the action to ramp up ahead of the quarter-finals next Saturday night.

It's really heating up in the Time Club Derby this weekend as we look forward to the 3rd Round.

The 2nd Round of the TIME Club Graders Derby dominated Saturday night's card at Limerick Greyhound Stadium and, while just a few greyhounds fell foul of the 28.90 stipulation in round one, it was a different story on night two, with no fewer than eight of the twelve heat winners eliminated from the competition.

Indeed, there were a series of outstanding performances across the twelve heats on offer, one more so than those produced by opening heat winners Coolanga Elite and Magical Fiona. Both trackers dipped under the 28.30 mark on the clock and, while neither will take any further part in the €20,000-to-the-winner event, connections will be delighted with the significant improvement shown.
