The second round of the TIME Club Graders Derby dominated Saturday night's card at Limerick Greyhound Stadium and, while just a few greyhounds fell foul of the 28.90 stipulation in round one, it was a different story on night two, with no fewer than eight of the twelve heat winners eliminated from the competition.

Indeed, there were a series of outstanding performances across the twelve heats on offer, one more so than those produced by opening heat winners Coolanga Elite and Magical Fiona. Both trackers dipped under the 28.30 mark on the clock and, while neither will take any further part in the €20,000-to-the-winner event, connections will be delighted with the significant improvement shown.

Following a mammoth opening round of the ‘TIME’ Club Graders Derby 525, the field has been cut to 72 runners, with the valuable competition set to dominate the entire card at Limerick tonight.

Best of luck to our local trainer, Pat Buckley, Emma and all the team in tonight's English Derby Final.

It's an all Irish Final with Liam Dowling and Paul Hennessy also training finalists and we wish them all the very best of luck. All 3 trainers are great friends of Limerick Greyhound Stadium and any one would be a worthy winner.

You might recognise the names from running here in Limerick, including some of the stars of the Con and Annie Kirby Memorial in March and April.

We will have the Final on the big TV downstairs cheering them all on!

There was valuable sweepstake final on offer in Limerick on Saturday night in the Limerick Brakes A1 550.

In what appeared a wide-open contest beforehand, it was Made To Measure who made light work of his rivals as Mark Lowther’s charge produced a dominant front-running display to land the €3,000 winner’s prize.

Limerick saw an equally exciting second night of the TIME Club A4 Graders Derby.

Saturday night brought the opening round of the TIME Club Graders Derby to a close, with a further twelve heats on the card. As expected in such a competitive event, the contests were fiercely competitive, with little separating the runners on the clock.

The standout performance of the evening came from Zanoosh, who produced a dazzling display to stop the clock in 28.65. However, despite that impressive effort, both Zanoosh and Petulance, who clocked 28.83, exited the competition under the 28.90 time-finding stipulation. Of those who successfully progressed, Cloneen Alainn and Da Brake were among the most impressive, each recording commanding victories in their respective heats.

With the field now reduced from 144 runners to just 72, the competition is set to intensify in the coming rounds, and this hugely popular event is taking shape nicely.
