I’m probably never going to be the person who confidently talks to the camera every day 😂

Most days, there genuinely just isn’t enough time.

But I still want to share this journey with you. The changes, the ideas that work, the ones that don’t, the early mornings and all the little decisions happening behind the scenes.

Moving towards making more of our own fresh bakes has been one of those decisions.

It definitely hasn’t made life easier. Some Saturday mornings, on what’s supposed to be our day off, we’re up early baking and getting everything ready.

But every time someone tries something we’ve made, comes back for it, or tells us they loved it, it reminds us why we started doing this.

We want to keep improving. Keep experimenting. Keep giving more people a reason to find us and try what we’re creating.

Where does all of this lead?

We genuinely have no idea 😂

But I think that’s what makes building a small business exciting.

We’re figuring it out as we go, and hopefully these little photos and words mean you get to figure it out with us too. 🧡

One thing we do know… we’re not done trying.

Happy anniversary to my husband, my best friend, and somehow… my business partner too. ❤️

You might not see Mark on camera as much as you see me, but behind Social Bean, he is everywhere.

For everything you see me doing, there are probably ten other things happening in the background that he’s taking care of. All the things I’m not doing, all the things I forget about, all the problems that need solving, and all the moments when I’m overwhelmed and need someone beside me.

Starting a business together has definitely shown us a completely different side of marriage. 😂

I know I can be stressful to work with. I overthink, I worry, I get frustrated, I change my mind, I have another idea five minutes later… and I know putting up with me every single day, both at home AND at work, is not always easy.

But through every difficult day, every early morning, every setback, every little win and every moment where we’ve wondered what on earth we’re doing… you’ve been there.

Not just as my husband, but as the strongest business partner I could have asked for.

Social Bean would not be what it is without you. And honestly, neither would I.

We’ve already built a life together, and somehow last year we decided that wasn’t enough and built a business together too. 😂 It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m so grateful that through all the chaos, I get to do life with you.

Thank you for carrying so much of what people don’t see.

Thank you for believing in us.

And most of all, thank you for still wanting to come home with me after working with me all day. 😂❤️

Another year of us. And I wouldn’t choose anyone else to do all of this with. 🤍

Tomorrow’s pastry line-up is looking very good.

We’ve been experimenting, tweaking and putting a little more of ourselves into what goes into the display, and tomorrow morning you’ll find:

🤎 Biscoff Cinnamon Roll
🍊 Orange Cinnamon Roll
☕ Vegan Tiramisu
🥐 Almond Croissant
🍫 Pain au Chocolat

Freshly baked and ready from 9am tomorrow morning.

Some familiar favourites, some newer creations, and hopefully something that gives you an excuse to treat yourself this weekend. 🧡

Things have been changing around here lately. 🥐🤍

We know the roadworks around Fingallians have made getting to us a little different lately. There’s more traffic, a bit more patience needed, and we know it can sometimes feel easier to just go another way.

But we’re still here, and it’s actually pushed us to think harder about what we can do better.

And a little shoutout to the construction crews too. 👷🤍 They’re out there every day simply doing their jobs, working through all kinds of weather and doing their best. We see you!

As for us, we’ve decided to use this time to change things up.

Earlier mornings. Proofing. Baking. Filling. Experimenting.

Our pastry counter is slowly becoming something that feels much more like Social Bean and lately we’ve been asking ourselves, why stop at sweet?

So here comes something savoury. 👀

Garlic butter. Cream cheese. Parmesan. Croissant. 🧄🧀🥐

We can’t make the journey here any shorter right now, but we can make what’s waiting for you at the end of it worth it. 🤍

And that’s exactly what we’re trying to do.

We didn’t sell out today, and now that we’re making everything ourselves, it’s even harder to see pastries left at the end of the day. 🤎

When you wake up earlier, proof the dough, bake everything fresh, and put your own ideas into every batch, seeing pastries left at the end of the day hits differently. You can’t help but wonder, “Are we doing the right thing?”

But today reminded us why we started changing things. The compliments, the feedback, and seeing people genuinely excited to try what we’ve made all show us that the difference is being noticed, even if the counter isn’t empty yet.

Maybe progress isn’t always selling out. Maybe it’s seeing someone come back, hearing “that was really good,” and watching the community slowly notice the effort.

To our community: thank you for choosing us again and again. Your support means more than you know.

And that’s enough for us to keep going. 🧡
