This week over 60 members attended training, our new recruits received induction and safety training, year two students are undergoing the First Aid Responder course, year 3 students are working hard at the Emergency First Responder course and general weekly training members participated in a large training exercise that simulated a response following a severe weather event, testing our command and control and our volunteer tracking software.

Its fantastic to see such big numbers of people willing to give up their time to be #1 part of our team, #2 to better themselves and improve their skills and #3 to make a difference in their communities.

Last night we welcomed 19 new recruits to our team bringing the total number of active volunteers to 101. Over the next number of months the new recruits will be trained in disciplines such as Radio communications, mapping software , manual handling, Cardiac First Responders and much more.

This has been a long process so far ,with open nights and interviews taking place since last June but last night their journey really begins. We wish all the new recruits the very best of luck.

We would also like to thank our officers and Leaders who have helped out with this process.

Final thanks goes to the course facilitators. 1st Officer Aaron and 2nd Officer Jo who will guide the students from start to finish.

Best of luck to everyone involved 🫡

Yesterday we had the privilege and honor to welcome the families of our wonderful volunteers to our first ever family fun day.

Over 200 family members from the very young to the very mature came to our HQ on the Quin road in Ennis. The kids were treated to some fun activities outside while some educational and interesting talks took place inside the building including 2 case study reviews and a presentation on our mapping software and tetra communication systems.

Clare Civil Defence Volunteers along with all volunteers play a huge part in supporting our communities, they sacrifice their time away from their families to attend training , events and Callouts who without their families support it just wouldn't be possible.
The family fun day was about recognising and acknowledging that support and to hopefully inspire the next generation. 🧡💙

We would like to thank the team of wonderful volunteers that helped organise and put the event together.
We are truly very grateful for your efforts.

Thanks also to our special guests Jackie Breene and her family for also attending the event.

We hope with Jackie permission to share her incredible story very soon.

Thanks again to everyone who attended we hope you all had a great day. ❤️
