Some things in life come along and change your path without you even realising it at the time. ❤️
I started working in The Little Acorn in Baltinglass, Wicklow, and I honestly had no idea just how much that little café would come to mean to me.

The Little Acorn wasn’t just a place I worked. It was where I discovered something I truly loved. It gave me a purpose, taught me so much, gave me some amazing memories and, most importantly, helped me realise that this is what I wanted to do with my life. Without The Little Acorn, and without Maggie Roche, I genuinely don’t know if Brew Stop would be here today. ☕️❤️

Now, a year and a half into having my own café, Brew Stop, I can look back and see just how important those nearly three years at the Acorn were. So much of what I learned there, the love I developed for hospitality, and the belief that I could one day do this myself, all started there.

That’s why, as The Little Acorn prepares to close its doors this Sunday, it feels incredibly personal and incredibly sad. It’s so hard to say goodbye to somewhere that played such a huge part in my journey.

Maggie, thank you for everything. Thank you for giving me the opportunity, for everything you taught me, for the laughs, the memories and for helping me find something that gave me a real sense of purpose. I’ll forever be grateful to you and to The Little Acorn. ❤️

The Acorn has been such a special place to so many people, and I know I’m not alone in feeling heartbroken to see it go.

And of course, I couldn’t post about the Acorn without sharing my absolute favourite things from the menu — the fish tacos 🌮❤️ and the savoury pancakes. Two things I’ll always remember!

If you haven’t been yet, please go and visit The Little Acorn before the doors close for the final time this Sunday. Have a coffee, have something delicious to eat, make a memory and support Maggie and the team one last time. ❤️

Thank you, Little Acorn, for being such a huge part of my story. From one little café to another — you’ll always have a very special place in my heart. 🥹☕️🌱
