Running a restaurant in Canggu has been like dating my toxic ex exhausting, expensive, and somehow addictive.We loved it.We hated it. Mostly both.

You’ve got 4 days left to eat our food, drink our coffee, and watch us slowly pack this chaos up with a smile. After that, find another spot to complain about your food.

Come say goodbye, or don’t. We’re not leaving a legacy.Just dirty dishes and a messy kitchen.

A table full of food, drinks, and faceless guests.
Not because we’re protecting their privacy, we just cropped them out.
This is about the food, not beauty contest!

Plates loaded, glasses full, calories ignored. You can pretend it’s about “sharing moments,” but really… it’s about bragging rights.
Because nothing says weekend like showing the internet what you’re eating while silently judging what they’re eating.

Yes, we disappeared for weeks.
No, we weren’t “working on something exciting.” We just didn’t feel like posting. That’s it.

Anyway here’s our Chicken Kathi Roll: tofu “chicken,” veggies, curry aioli, all wrapped in warm flatbread with enough flavor to make you forget we ghosted you.

That’s our friend eating it. Why? Because we don’t hire models. Not because we paid them we don’t pay anyone.
It’s called friends with benefits… just the kind where the benefit is free lunch and unpaid labor.

After making new menus every single month since 2019… we’re tired.

So now you do the work.
Pick your base, pick your toppings, pretend you’re a chef. We’ll just stand here, smile, and take all the credit.

Yes, we always invite our friends to eat at Manggis. No, it’s not because we’re kind or generous. It’s because we’re cheap and need free models for Instagram.

We feed them, they smile, we take pics. It’s called exploitation, but with lunch.

Kinda like what we used to do every time we ate:

Raise the animals, give them space, feed them, kill them and eat them.

Ah, but this one is called the circle of life.. but with seasoning.

Now we just exploit our friends instead. Feels cleaner.

It’s pasta. But make it weird.

Fennel, mushroom, coconut-cashew cream, roasted smoked baby carrot, chili oil, vegan parmesan, and fresh basil.
A little fancy. A little feral. Full-flavored and emotionally confusing in the best way.

This is the kind of pasta that makes you question your go-to comfort food.
Try it while it’s still legal.

We were quiet last week. Not for any noble reason. Just needed a break from pretending to be productive.

But hey, we’re back and so is this dangerously good thing we call our July special:
Smoked Ham Focaccia Sandwich.
Chickpea smoked ham, mushroom pâté, fresh veggies, chili cajun aioli, and focaccia that honestly deserves more credit than most of us do at work.

Try it before July ends and we pretend it never existed.

We didn’t post anything for a week. Not because something deep happened—we were just tired. That’s it. Life happens.

Anyway, here’s a bunch of our friends pretending to be customers.
Yes, we use free models. Yes, we paid them in food. No, they didn’t complain (they ate too much to speak).

Four hands, too much food, and one of them definitely said “I’m not hungry” then finished half the table.
Classic.

Today is Sunday and this is our Falafel Garden.
Yes, I know it sounds wholesome. Peaceful. Like something that might heal your inner child.
Fresh greens, crispy falafel, creamy hummus, and a dressing that makes you feel like you might have your life together.
But we don't and you don’t. But it’s Sunday. Let’s pretend.
Come eat something green before you go ruin it with bottomless brunch regrets or another impulsive tattoo.
Pick your poison.

Yes, the construction is still going.
No, we don’t know when it’ll stop.
Yes, we’re still serving good coffee.
No, it won’t fix your mood, but it’ll match it.

Two cups. One for you. One for your emotional support system (which may or may not be caffeine itself).
Come rage-sip with us while Canggu keeps turning into another concrete jungle. Complain with us and.... we’ll pretend to listen (but we won’t).

We’re coping. Bitterly. With plant milk.

Look at this brunch!! You know what makes it perfect? The goddamn construction site right in front of Manggis.

They’ve been drilling, hammering, and making it sound like we opened a restaurant inside a demolition derby. It’s chaos. And because of that, the place is way quieter than it should be.

So yeah, if you’ve ever wanted Manggis without the “crowds”… this is your moment.
Come build your own brunch while Canggu builds another... whatever.

We’re still here. Still cooking. Still pi**ed.
