If you’ve ever visited Curry Bowl, you’ve probably heard that loud, fast chopping sound coming from out kichen. That’s Kotthu being freshly prepared, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic dishes.

So we decided to put our team to the test: can they recreate the sound of Kotthu chopping without actually making Kotthu? 😂

From Sri Lanka to Croatia 🇱🇰🏓🇭🇷

We were proud to welcome young Sri Lankan table tennis talent Taavi Samaraweera to Curry Bowl during his time in Croatia for the WTT Youth Contender in Varaždin.

Taavi brought home a silver medal in the Under-11 Singles, adding to an incredible 2026 season that already includes four gold medals for Sri Lanka. 👏

It was a pleasure to have him spend some time with our Sri Lankan team here in Zagreb and, of course, enjoy a taste of home at Curry Bowl. 🍛❤️

There was another special connection too: Taavi comes from S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, the same school Curry Bowl founder Brian attended.

We’re always proud to see young Sri Lankan talent making its mark around the world and carrying the Sri Lankan flag on the international stage. 🇱🇰
