The people who first walked this earth didn’t come from Europe, America or Asia. The evidence from human evolution points back to Africa, where our species emerged and from where humans eventually spread across the world.

So when we talk about Africa, we’re not talking about some distant place in human history.

We’re talking about where the human story began.

And maybe that should change the way the world sees Africa and the way Africans see themselves.

Africa isn’t outside the story of humanity. Africa is where the story begins.

ONE-SIZE EDUCATION?
Why do we put every African child in the same classroom, give them the same test, then call some of them “slow”?

One child may be gifted in academics. Another may be a future carpenter, engineer, artist, athlete, farmer, or entrepreneur.

Africa needs an education system that discovers talent not one that measures every child the same way.

Has religion sometimes given Africans hope, or has it also made some of us accept our situation instead of questioning it and trying to change it?

Faith is personal, and everyone has the right to believe. But believing should not stop us from thinking, asking questions, getting educated, building businesses, creating technology, and taking responsibility for Africa’s future.

How can we take our money outside Africa, then go back and beg for money to develop Africa?

His message is simple strengthen our own African institutions, invest in them, and use our own resources to finance Africa’s development.

Africa has money. Africa has institutions. Africa has the people.
