The Lobster (2015) - Yorgos Lanthimos

In a world where being single is illegal, you have 45 days to fall in love. Fail and you’re turned into an animal of your choice.

Cold, absurd and strangely romantic, The Lobster turns dating, loneliness and the pressure to belong into one of cinema’s darkest love stories.

Days of Being Wild - Wong Kar-wai’s restless portrait of longing, missed timing and people searching for something they can’t quite name.

Set in 1960s Hong Kong, the film drifts through brief encounters, complicated desire and the quiet loneliness that follows. Moody, intimate and unmistakably Wong Kar-wai.

The Worst Person in the World (2021)
Joachim Trier

A restless, intimate portrait of love, uncertainty and becoming someone while still not quite knowing who that someone is. Moving between romance, regret and reinvention, the film captures the beautiful mess of trying to choose a life.

Trần Anh Hùng’s The Scent of Green Papaya (1993) follows young Mùi through 1950s Saigon, finding beauty in the smallest rituals of everyday life - preparing food, rain, insects, music, silence and first love.

With very little dialogue, the film builds its world through texture, sound and observation. It won the Caméra d’Or at Cannes for best first feature and was later nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

A film you can almost smell, hear and touch.

The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, 2013

Based on a Japanese story more than 1,000 years old, the film transforms one of Japan’s oldest tales into something incredibly delicate and alive.

Isao Takahata’s hand-drawn, watercolor-like animation changes with Kaguya’s emotions, becoming softer, wilder and almost unfinished as her inner world shifts.

Step into a world where castles walk, fire talks and nothing is quite what it seems.

Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle is a story of magic, love, courage and finding yourself in the middle of a beautifully strange world. One of Studio Ghibli’s most beloved films, returning to our screen for Dreams in Motion.
