Most of us love a beef welly but this is my alternative, a pork fillet welly. An autumn/ winter menu treat, that is always well received.

Took a few trials initially to get the cuisson & oven temperature required but that's all part of the process.

New on the menu, slow braised local estate, Belted Galloway shin of beef, cooked for hours until butter like tender, served with horseradish potato mash, wild mushrooms, roast baby onions, rich beef cooking gravy.

Eats beautifully. Come & get it while you can. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Right, unfortunately for us, we have just had a pretty sizeable private party cancellation for the above date.

If you are still making plans to go out & eat on Saturday night, we now have plenty of table availability at both 6pm & 7pm.

Please do come & join us for a cosy night at the Plough. Richard will be in the kitchen doing his thing, cooking for you personally. Not many places that can claim that!

There are creme brulee's & creme brulee's, this is the latter!

Rarely off the menu, it's a classic for a reason. When made properly, it has to be one of the very best desserts to finish a meal with.

This version is a Cornish clotted cream & vanilla brulee.
It has a silky smooth, creamy rich texture with just enough crunch to complement perfectly. Doesn't need any superfluous, unnecessary garnishes.

Confidently say this is one of the very best brulee's out there. Not often we ever say something as bold but it is!

If you have not tried it, you definitely should!
