🌸 A little bit of Warton being looked after… 🌸

Spotted the hanging baskets outside the shop being watered today. 🌺💧

Historically, we’ve bought 2 seasons worth and looked after our own baskets outside Oliver’s Chippy, so it’s lovely to see the village looking colourful and cared for too.

A big thank you Bryning with Warton Parish Council for helping brighten up our little corner of Warton. 👏

🖤❤️ Oliver’s New Independence Hub ❤️🖤

A lot of people only see the finished room, but they don’t see the thought that goes into making a space work for a young person with additional needs.

Oliver’s room is becoming more than just a bedroom it’s his own little independence hub.

✅ Digital family calendar with reminders and activities
✅ Visual meal planner with photos of foods he enjoys
✅ Gaming and relaxation space
✅ Digital photo frame filled with memories
✅ Snake plant for a bit of greenery 🌱
✅ New bed and comfy sleeping area
✅ Home cinema setup for his favourite films and music

The aim isn’t perfection.

The aim is helping Oliver understand what’s happening each day, encouraging independence, reducing anxiety and giving him a space that feels safe, predictable and his.

Still a few finishing touches to go wall panels, lighting and a drawing tablet when funds allow but we’re getting there.

Seeing him look around, completely overwhelmed, and quietly say “Thank you Mummy” made every late night, every bit of planning and every penny worth it. ❤️

🐟🍟 National Fish & Chip Day is here! 🍟🐟

The bunting is up. 🇬🇧

The team are proudly wearing their National Fish & Chip Day uniforms. 👕

The BIGGEST box of chips in Warton is in the shop. 🍟😂

And our “A Chip Off The Old Clock” challenge has been brilliant fun this week, with several people already walking away as winners! ⏰🏆

Today is all about celebrating one of Britain’s favourite meals and supporting your local chippy.

📜🤔 Bit of a random one…

This is actually on one of my walls at home!

I picked it up years ago from The Regent in Blackpool because I thought it looked unusual and a bit different from the usual pictures and prints.

From what I can tell, it’s an old-style mortgage or property document, complete with fancy handwriting that I can barely read! 😂

Most people have family photos, inspirational quotes or artwork on their walls…

Me? I’ve got what looks like a Victorian mortgage agreement. 🤷‍♀️😂

We’re have a few weeks left into our School Holiday Meals fundraiser and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us move closer to providing free meals for local children during the school holidays.

For those asking, there is now a QR code available both online and in the shop, making it easy to donate if you wish.

You don’t need to donate a large amount. If lots of people gave just £1, it would soon add up and make a real difference.

As always, there is absolutely no obligation to donate. Sharing the fundraiser is also a huge help.

⚽🏆 WORLD CUP GIFT BAGS IT IS! 🏆⚽

Well, the votes are in and the clear winner was lots of smaller prizes rather than one big hamper… so that’s exactly what I am going to do! ❤️

I’ve ordered 20 World Cup-themed gift bags which will be given away during the tournament. 🎁⚽ Englands first game.

As always, I try to spread a little bit of joy to as many children as possible.

The bags have now arrived and we’ll be putting together the details closer to the first game. 👀

I always try my best to make things fair and inclusive. No matter what you do, someone will always think there’s a better way, but my aim is simply to put a smile on a few faces.
