The wonderful and remarkable Glen Hansard will be laid to rest in Dublin tomorrow.

We will be inviting visitors to Varleys to make a charitable donation alongside their purchases each day for the rest of week as per his funeral wishes.

Glen's busking and charity work centered around homelessness in the Dublin area and we'd like to honour his memory and life by making donations to a local charity to Upminster and Havering, centred on homelessness.

Every day this week, our staff will offer to add a £1 donation to S.M.I.L.E Essex to each purchase at Varleys. All donations will go direct to the charity.

We're doing plain and fruity, with Salted Irish butter.

At £1.95, they're perfect to fill a little spot with a cup of Barry's Tea or one of our trademark coffees.

For extra fruitiness, we can add some jam for a few pennies more ☘️🤩

Our £6 pastry deal is also still in play if you fancy something a tad bigger and heavier.
