Hey everyone! Just a heads up that the card machine is on its last legs. It was unfortunately damaged a few weeks back and now the screen is going. It does still work for the time being, but if you're unable to get it working, you can still pay via cash or bank transfer :)

Quick update for you all...

I recently signed up to a new dairy supplier so I could get ingredients delivered to my door, saving me time not having to visit the wholesalers.

Unfortunately the double cream from the supplier was not up to standard. It was thin in consistency and didn't cling to the walls of the bottle, I knew straight away it wasn't right. I made a 7 litre batch of mix but unfortunately upon churning, the finished product was icy, and not up to my usual velvety standard.

I have raised my concerns about to product to the supplier who have forwarded it to the relevant department. I will also be raising the issue to trading standards if I don't receive an adequate response, as the product sent to me clearly did not contain the legally required 48% milk fat content to allow it to be called double cream. This company is well known and a big distributor of dairy products.

Unfortunately I have had to dispose of an entire batch of mix, at great expense. That is how much quality means to me. Luckily I drove to the wholesalers at 7 o clock this morning and now have my usual standard of cream back 😅

If anyone local bakers or businesses are considering a dairy supplier, I'm happy to share the name with you to avoid incidents like this in the future!

Well that was very unexpected...

Not quite sure what happened but this has already been my busiest day in the 2 years since starting The Scoop - Hanslope!
