There’s something really special about being asked to make a cake for a milestone like this.

A simple vanilla sponge, fresh raspberries, lots of lemon and pistachio buttercream, and handwritten chocolate piping done carefully this morning before service started ☕️

We’re in the FINAL 🥹✨

8 years of early mornings, busy weekends, trays in and out of the oven… and somehow, here we are again.

Finalists in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2026 💛

This is our 5th time in the finals… and I think our 6th nomination over the years — which honestly means the world.( haven’t won yet)

Because this isn’t just about us…It’s about every single one of you who walks through the door, grabs a coffee, buys a cake, brings friends, and takes the time to vote.

We’ve gone from strength to strength over the years, and that’s entirely down to the incredible community around this little café.

So… thank you. Truly 💛

People keep asking about the scones.

So I’m teaching you how to make them, live.

I’ve started running small, calm baking classes where we bake together in real time, ask questions as we go, and take the stress out of it.

The first one is a Scone Masterclass, the two scones I’m most known for at the Whistle Stop.

✨ We’re hiring at the café ✨

I’m looking for full-time and part-time team members to join our busy, friendly café, including baristas and someone who can help with cooking & baking.

This is a hands-on role in a busy, independent café where good food, good coffee, and looking after people really matter.

Roles available:
☕ Baristas (experience helpful but not essential)
🍰 Café / front of house team
🥐 Kitchen support — helping with cooking & baking alongside me

I’m looking for people who are:
✔️ warm and friendly
✔️ reliable and calm under pressure
✔️ happy to muck in and work as part of a small team
✔️ genuinely interested in food

Experience is a bonus, but attitude, care, and a good work ethic matter most.
Training can be given to the right people.
