People don’t always realise just how long fairs have been part of our towns. Nottingham Goose Fair dates back to at least 1284! 🪿🎡 That’s more than 700 years of showmen and showwomen keeping the tradition alive. ❤️
We’re into our autumn run now 🍂 Farnham has been, Nottingham Goose Fair is on, and my two children have just come back after three days of enjoying themselves. They’re already in bed, worn out! 😂🎠
Next up are Marlborough Mops 1 and 2, Chichester Sloe Fair and Alesford Fair, Sailsbury they are all chartered Fairs name a few. 🎢✨
We know a fair can bring noise and disruption for a few days, and we always try to be considerate. Sometimes someone moves into a town and isn’t happy to find the fair there. We can’t please everyone, but many of these fairs were visiting long before any of us were born. They’re part of the town’s history as well as our family’s. 🏘️🎪
So come along, make some memories and help us keep the tradition alive for the next generation! 🎟️🍭
