As many of you will know, there is a huge wildfire currently tearing through the mountains at Varteg.

We’ve spoken with the firefighters on the ground and are doing what we can to support them by providing hot and cold meals for the firefighters and the farmers who are working tirelessly alongside them.

These incredible people have families waiting for them at home, yet they continue to put themselves in harm’s way to protect our community, our homes, our countryside and our livelihoods. The scale of the fire is truly frightening, and it’s hard to imagine what they’re facing on the front line.

Please keep every firefighter, farmer and volunteer in your thoughts and prayers today. Let’s hope the wind eases, giving them the opportunity to bring this devastating fire under control safely.

Thank you to every single person involved. Your courage, dedication and selflessness will never go unnoticed. ❤️
