🍂 As winter draws in here at The Barque… 🍂

As another wonderful season comes to an end, we’d like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us, joined us for a bite to eat and made this season so special.

With the colder months approaching, our kitchen at The Barque will be closing for the winter from 1st October.

But don’t worry, we’ll still have plenty of tasty treats available from the bar, including homemade soups, delicious sausage rolls and more! Perfect for warming up on those chilly autumn days.

And if you’re looking for something more substantial, don’t forget that The Ancient Mariner will still be serving food daily from 12pm!

Thank you once again for all your continued support. We’re so grateful to everyone who has visited us this season, and we look forward to welcoming you in for a cosy drink and a bite to eat throughout the winter months.

COMING THIS WINTER TO THE BARQUE…

THE BARQUE’S SUNDAY SOCIAL CLUB

Because Sundays are far too good to waste on sensible behaviour…

Starting this winter, we’re giving you a very good excuse to get yourself down to The Barque from 3pm on the last Sunday of every month.

Each month will have a different theme — and your mission is simple:

🎒 BRING AN ITEM.
The stranger, sillier, more random or downright questionable… the better.

It could be something from your kitchen cupboard, something you found in a charity shop, something you’ve owned for 20 years and have absolutely no idea why, or something that simply makes you think:

“This will be funny after a couple of pints.”

And yes… there will be PRIZES!

There’ll be good food, good drinks, questionable decisions, plenty of laughs and, quite possibly, some items that should never have been brought into a pub in the first place.

Bring your mates.

A little apology from The Barque…

We’re really sorry, but due to staff sickness, we’ve made the difficult decision that The Barque will have to close today.

We know this is disappointing, especially if you were planning on popping in for a drink or a bite to eat, and we’re genuinely sorry for any inconvenience caused. Sometimes, even the best-laid plans get scuppered!

Please don’t worry, though… The Ancient Mariner is still open and ready to welcome you!

So if you’re heading our way today, you can still find a warm welcome, a cold drink and plenty of good cheer just a few doors down at The Ancient Mariner.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support — it really does mean a lot to us.
