A recent trip up to Yorkshire to visit our supplier R&J | Yorkshire’s Finest

A 5th-generation-family-run farm and butchery with an incredible hands-on approach, from rearing livestock through
to butchery - giving us complete confidence in the provenance and welfare of our bacon. Every pig is hand selected for our old-fashioned middle bacon to ensure the right fat and marbling throughout every rasher.

We’ll only ever be as good as our suppliers and so we’re lucky to work with people who care about their craft as much as R&J do.

There was a special spirit in the business which we could feel from everyone who worked there.

Ryan & Rob, thanks for showing us around. Jo, thanks for the Northern hospitality ❤️

It was a special trip. Look forward to having the family down the caff soon x

For all those asking… (no one asked)

Ever wondered why we named the business Le Swine?

I was having a cuppa with a punter outside the caff recently and he asked me “why Le Swine?”. He thought we were trying to sound a bit fancy. Like proper fancy and that.

So here’s the real reason…the moment the idea of the business came about I jumped on the phone to my mate Lucy (who’s a real creative fu**er) and told her I needed a name for the biz. We went for a spot of lunch, I talked her through the concept and that I was leaving my job to sell bacon sarnies. Lu started reeling off words like OINK, PIGGY, PORKY, PORCINE …SWINE.

SWINE - Love that! I went home that night to buy the domain and it had already been taken. I told Lu we need to add another word. “Gimme a couple of hours” she said.

One of the words Lu came back with was “La”. I thought let’s change that to “Le”…Le Swine 🐷

Stuck a lil’ va va voom on an old English word. It instantly reminded me of when Del Boy try’s to sound sophisticated - “Mange tout Rodders”. Perfect.

Anyway, for those still reading, thanks to everyone who has passed by this half term ❤️ it’s appreciated
