If you’ve popped into the cafe recently, you might have noticed a few new cheery faces! ☕✨

Our 2027 learners - including Harry, Danial, Kayden, and Hugo, pictured - have officially started, and they’re already off to a roaring start! (We even spotted some impressive latte art the very first time one of our other learners Liam handled the milk station 🥛🎨).

A few quick facts about this shift of our newest team members:
🍝 One is a massive bolognese fan (relatable).
☕ One started an instant team trend with caramel hot chocolates.
🌌 One is a huge Star Wars fan.

Great ingredients make a great meal... but our recipe for success goes way beyond the kitchen - you get delicious food with a life-changing impact.

Our Autumn Menu has officially landed, and it might just be our tastiest one yet! But the best part? Every sandwich & coffee you enjoy helps us provide life-changing hospitality training and employment for young adults with learning disabilities and autism.

Meet the new lineup:

For the charcuterie fan: Nduja + Salami Ciabatta – Nduja & sundried tomato paste, rocket & basil salad, fresh buffalo tomato, salami, and melted mozzarella. 🍅

For umami lovers: Garlic Mushroom Ciabatta (V) – Flavor-packed chimichurri, rocket, juicy portobello mushrooms, and melted provolone. 🍄‍🟫

The sweet-and-spicy seekers: Cajun Tofu Wrap (VE) – Chili jam, baby spinach, red bell peppers, red onion, and seasoned cajun tofu. 🌶️

Good food tastes even better when it makes a difference. Come down, grab a bite, enjoy a cup of specialty coffee, and meet our learners who make Fair Shot so special!

SHE DID IT! 🏃‍♀️🎉🎉

Huge congratulations to our amazing graduate, Roberta, who completed the Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday! We couldn’t be prouder of her determination, effort, and inspiring spirit every step of those 13.1 miles. 🏆✨

Roberta ran her very first half marathon to raise vital funds for Fair Shot’s 5th Birthday Campaign, helping ensure more young adults with learning disabilities get access to life-changing training and employment. ☕️💼

Thank you so much to everyone who cheered her on, shared her story, and donated to her page - your support means the world and directly impacts future graduates. ❤️

Today it’s World Mental Health Day, and we’ve been musing how positive mental health starts with community, purpose, and a place where you truly belong. ☕️✨

According to Mencap, up to 40% of people with a learning disability experience mental health challenges, often stemming from isolation and lack of opportunities. But when a space nurtures connection and positive emotion, that story changes completely. 💚

Just this week, one of our brand-new of learners wrote a beautiful poem sharing how excited he is to be here and how much he already loves the team!

Our doors are constantly swinging open as past learners pop back in just to catch up with their former colleagues and job coaches, usually over a latte. 🥹

Our new learners are arriving this week, and we are over the moon to welcome them! 💚

We asked our amazing team what they’re most excited about as we continue building a warm, inclusive space where everyone truly belongs.

Every year, we welcome new learners into our 11-month cafe training program. They get hands-on experience with every part of running a cafe, from perfecting the art of coffee-making to customer care, food prep, and front-of-house service. ✨

Once their time with us wraps up, we help connect them with great job opportunities across various industries, paving the way for long-term success.

Autumn is in full swing, and we’re brewing up something extra special… ☕️

3,500km status update: the incredible Micaela HAS ARRIVED IN MOROCCO! 🚲✨

She’s officially crossed the Mediterranean and landed on African soil on her epic journey from London to Beni Mellal! 🇬🇧>🇲🇦

After cycling across Europe, she’s now met up with a group of friends in Morocco to tackle the final, thrilling leg of her ride - all raising vital funds to give young adults with learning disabilities and autism a fair shot at employment.

She’s already raised nearly £5,000, and we can’t thank her enough! 💪

“Riding a bike is the best way to see places I’ve never been and experience communities in an eco-friendly way. But I wanted this to be more than an adventure for myself... every donation goes directly to Fair Shot.”
