NEW ROLE: KITCHEN VOLUNTEER

Age UK East Sussex is an independent local charity supporting older people across East Sussex for over 75 years, providing services, activities, advice, and community spaces to help make the county a great place to grow older.

They now seek a Kitchen Volunteer for the Lewes House of Friendship.

Currently they are recruiting for 1 day a week, on a Monday from 11.00am to 2.00pm. It’s really easy to start the process. If you’re over 18 years old, please apply now.

Booking is now open for the autumn term of Lipreading lessons!

Weekly classes start Thursday 3 September running until 22 October, from 2pm to 4pm at the House of Friendship in the heart of Lewes.

New to lipreading? Your first class is free! After that, sessions are:

£5 per session when paid in advance
£7 per session when paid weekly

What's for lunch today? 🍽️

Today, the kitchen at Lewes House of Friendship is serving up chicken and mushroom pie, creamy mash and seasonal vegetables.

Every weekday, freshly prepared lunches are served in the Dining Room at 12.30pm. But the meals don't all stay at the centre. Our wonderful volunteer delivery drivers take hot lunches out to older people in Lewes who aren't able to join us in person.

The service can be used for a short time, perhaps after a stay in hospital, or on a longer-term basis if needed.

Meals are £8.50 for members and £10.50 for non-members.
