Today we said goodbye to our lovely Ella, and it’s safe to say the whole team is going to really miss her.

Over the past 18 months, Ella has brought so much energy, enthusiasm, creativity and care to everything she’s been part of.

From the beautifully curated exhibitions, to the warmth and attention she gave to North Art members and everyone who visited, her social media savvy, all the creative touches she brought to the building, and of course not forgetting the perfect latte art on her flat whites! Ella will leave her mark in so many ways.

Ella has been a special part of Northlight Leeds | Artist-Led Creative Space , north art .stars and the new Chapel Allerton Arts Centre story, and we know many of you will want to join us in thanking her for everything she has brought to this building and place.

We’re very sad to see her go, but so excited to see what comes next for her.
We just know she’s going to smash it - whatever she does!

Thank you Ella for bringing something truly special.
You’ll be very much missed.

Good luck ❤️

What a wonderful start to our autumn/ winter art history programme!

Last night’s Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera talk drew in a full house.

Thank you to everyone who came along, listened, enjoyed a glass of w**e with us and discussed the work of two major artists whose turbulent marriage inspired much of Frida’s work.

If you fancy joining us next time, our next talk explores the life and works of Jan Van Eyck

Doors 6.30pm
Talk starts 7pm

To all you lovers of arty, handmade gifts…

The Northlight shop has moved — but not very far!

You’ll now find it tucked into a new little corner, so we thought it deserved a proper name…

⭐️ The Corner Shop at Northlight ⭐️

It’s small, but beautiful, and filled with work by local artists and makers, including jewellery, ceramics, textiles, art, hand-bound books and gifts.

We’re gradually adding more work and welcoming more makers too, so there’ll always be something new to discover.

So if you’ve left your gift buying a little late, need something special for someone, or simply fancy treating yourself, do pop in, have a browse and support local artists while you’re here.

Open
Wednesday–Friday, 10am–4pm
Saturdays during workshops and events

POTTERY | 4 WEEK COURSE | EXPLORING CERAMICS WITH POPPY DAVIS

Have you ever worked with clay? Because there is something really wonderful about it. The slowing down, the use of your hands and the creation of an idea which gradually takes shape. Then, there’s the final reveal when the glazes have been fired and it comes out of the kiln.

This November, join ceramicist Poppy Davis Poppy Davis for our four-week pottery course at Northlight.

Designed to be beginner and intermediate level friendly, the course will introduce you to different hand-building techniques and give you time to experiment, develop your ideas and create your own ceramic pieces in a relaxed, supportive studio environment.

No previous pottery experience is needed — just come along ready to create.

Mondays, 16 November – 7 December
6pm–8pm
Northlight Leeds, 31 Potternewton Lane, Chapel Allerton.

Places are limited and usually sell out fast so please book soon to avoid disappointment.

Full course details and bookings are via the link in our bio :

Our cellar has officially reached capacity 😅

We’ve collected an extraordinary amount of art and craft materials over the years — some useful, some unusual and some we’d completely forgotten we had.

Rather than leave it all sitting downstairs, we’re opening it up for a Northlight Destash Sale.

Come and rummage, find a bargain and take something away to turn into a new project. And if you’ve got your own stash that needs thinning out, you can book a table and join us too.

See our slides to see what it’s all about.
