Some customers become friends… and some friendships last for decades. ❤️

It was such a pleasure to welcome Veronica and Gordon back to The Pottery to celebrate Veronica’s very special birthday.

I’ve known Veronica and Gordon for over 25 years, and seeing them again brought back so many memories. And I have to say, they’re looking exactly the same — Veronica, you’re looking fantastic! 😊

After more than 25 years running our own business, moments like this remind me why I still love what I do.

Restaurants and pubs are not only about food and drinks. They’re about people. You meet customers, they come back, you get to know their families and their stories, and somewhere along the way, customers become friends.

It genuinely makes my heart bounce to think that after all these years, we still have people who remember us, support us, love what we do, and choose The Pottery to celebrate the important moments in their lives.

Veronica, thank you for making the effort to come and celebrate your birthday with us. It really meant a lot to me.

Yesterday we showed you how we cook our ox tongue… today, we’re showing you how we serve it! 🔥

The original plan was tacos 🌮 — but I spotted some bao buns in the kitchen and thought… why not?

So today at The Pottery Tapas Bar in Kingston, we’re building our Ox Tongue Bao:

🥩 Slow-cooked, melt-in-the-mouth ox tongue
🥑 Fresh guacamole
🧅 Red onion
🌿 Fresh coriander
🔥 Our homemade chimichurri
🥟 All tucked inside a soft, fluffy bao bun

The ox tongue is incredibly tender and full of flavour — and it’s also naturally rich in vitamin B12, iron and zinc.

Chef Jackson is back in the kitchen cooking something a little different… ox tongue!

It might not be a cut everyone has tried, but when it’s cooked slowly and properly, ox tongue becomes incredibly tender, rich and full of flavour.

And it’s packed with goodness too — a great source of protein, vitamin B12, zinc and iron.

Tomorrow we’re turning it into our own Ox Tongue Tacos at The Pottery in Kingston. 🌮🔥
