My videography skills may leave a lot to be desired, but just thought I'd share a recap of the catering I did in May, before I move on to June content! Here's what I did, week by week:

1. Salad bar (and hot dogs) for a church event for 120+ 🥗

2. Enchanted Forest-themed dessert table for a university society ball (400 mini desserts) 🍄

3. Afternoon Tea for 48 guests at a 40th birthday party ☕️

4. Managed to squeeze in a 6 day holiday to Tenerife (more on that story later) 🏖

5. 600 mini desserts for a wedding 💒

Let’s talk about wedding tax 💒

Some people worry about mentioning the W word when booking a supplier for their big day, because sometimes the price can shoot up the moment you say it’s for a wedding 📈

But if it’s the same product and the same service, it should be the same price. I don’t charge extra just because it’s for a wedding 🙅‍♀️

This 8 inch chocolate cake (which I made for the same wedding as the 600 mini desserts I recently posted about) was decorated in my signature style and priced accordingly. The flowers were added by the customer at the venue to make it extra special and give it that wedding feel 💐

There are reasons wedding cakes usually cost more. I will charge extra for tiered cakes, custom designs, an extra-smooth finish with Swiss meringue buttercream, delivery and set-up, because those things take time, skill and effort.

But if you want a simple cake - you’re paying for the cake, not the occasion 🎂🩷

Why choose one wedding dessert when you can have 13?! 🤪

I loved putting together these dessert selections for a nearly-200-guest wedding at the end of May. I set up 20 stands full of delicious homemade desserts, then the bridesmaids helped carry them out at the end of the meal, one to each table!

From white chocolate and raspberry cheesecakes, lemon meringue eclairs and tropical fruit pavlovas to sticky toffee cupcakes, blondies, brownies, rocky road and cookies - there was something for everyone!

So grateful for the opportunity 🥰

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of providing afternoon teas for a 40th birthday party in Gosforth, for just under 50 people.

The birthday girl opted for:

👑 Coronation chicken wraps
🫑 Roasted Med veg, pesto & Mozzarella foccacia
🚀 Roast beef, Dijon & rocket sandwiches
🥒 Cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches

🍒 Cherry scones

🍋 Lemon tart
🤑 Millionaire's shortbread
🍫 Triple chocolate brownies

Not quite finished posting about the Enchanted Forest themed dessert table I made last month, but I promise this is *probably* the last one!

Last year we had a survey to get a heat pump in our home (decided against it in the end as we would have needed new pipes throughout the house 🤑)...

But on her visit, the lovely engineer from gave my daughter a little octopus plushie, which she absolutely adores 🥰

So what better theme than this for her 2nd birthday cake?! 🐙

She can't say octopus so she calls it oppity 🥹

Happy birthday to my beautiful, funny, independent and cheeky little girl! We love you! 💕

🍄🦔 Enchanted Forest themed dessert table! 🌳🐌

From hedgehog profiteroles and toadstool brownies to macaron snails, acorn cake pops and cinnamon swirl log stump biscuits - it was so much fun creating and styling this dessert table for and their law society ball for 200 people!

Although I didn’t manage to take photos before guests started digging in (I’d briefly left the table to finish preparing the fruit pots!), I did manage to capture these shots before everything disappeared.

I also have some beautiful professional photos from the evening which I’ll share separately soon! 📸

It’s always a little bittersweet seeing weeks of planning and preparation vanish within minutes, but I’m so glad so many people were able to enjoy my baking.

I love being able to get creative with projects like this and can’t wait to be part of more events like it!

A big thank you to these lovely ladies who helped me cook around 200 sausages and prep all the hot dog buns for the church meal last week! 🌭

The hot dogs were served alongside my salad bar, followed by a wonderful bring-and-share dessert buffet 🍪
