A Howies love story, 34 years in the making. ❤️

Back in July 1992, Margherita and Bob celebrated their wedding with a very special lunch at Howies.

Living just along the road from our Dalry restaurant, the couple had already discovered and enjoyed our food. So when it came to planning their wedding, they asked us to create a bespoke menu for their celebration – and they still have a copy of that menu today!

The day wasn't without a little surprise. A mix-up with the invitations meant a couple of extra guests arrived, but despite the restaurant already being full, our team managed to find room for everyone. 🎉

34 years later, Margherita and Bob still make a point of visiting Howies Waterloo Place to celebrate their anniversary whenever they're back in Edinburgh.

It's stories like these that remind us what hospitality is all about – good food, special moments and memories that last a lifetime.

Today we say a very fond farewell to Lara, who has been part of the Howies family for an incredible 13 years.

Lara has been such a valued member of our team over the years, and she’ll be very much missed by everyone.

Thank you, Lara, for everything you have brought to Howies over the last 13 years. We wish you the very best of luck as you start an exciting new chapter, we can’t wait to see what’s ahead for you!

Nothing makes us happier than hearing from a happy customer!

We recently welcomed this lovely group to our Calton Room Private Dining Room at Howies Waterloo Place for a private celebration and we were delighted to receive this wonderful review afterwards.

Tucked away from the main restaurant, the Calton Room is our private dining space for up to 30 guests, perfect for celebrations, family gatherings and group dinners in the heart of Edinburgh.
