Today the plan was to write about our new menu, but then I read an article and a post today from a well known Dundee business owner, Richard Cook, about growing up with Tourette syndrome, a stutter, learning difficulties and other neurodivergent traits. And I really wanted to post about it instead so the story and message can reach a wee bit further.
It resonated with me deeply.
Not because our stories are identical, but because I, too, am neurodivergent and I know what it feels like to grow up and do life feeling slightly “different,” slightly out of sync, slightly too much or not enough all at once.
Reading his words was powerful. Honest. Brave.
“Normal” is overrated. There is strength in being wired differently. There is creativity, resilience, empathy and fire in it.
If his post reached you, too … you’re not alone.
And if you’ve ever felt not quite normal … maybe that’s your superpower. Thank you Richard for sharing your story 🤍
Happy weekend, folks. Love, Goska
