Someone has left a car key on our outdoor seating tables at Long’s Cafe, Bank Street, Mexborough.

If you think it’s yours, we will need proof that you own the car before handing it over — ideally the car’s other contactless key/fob, or some other form of proof of ownership.

We won’t just hand it over to anyone who says it’s theirs, so please bring something with you to prove the car belongs to you.

Just to say, please don’t feel sorry for me about the cafe, and don’t think for one minute that selling it means I’m miserable.

Don’t get me wrong, it fu***ng hurts letting something go that you’ve put so much into. There’s memories, hard work, stress, sleepless nights — all of it.

But honestly, I feel happier than I have in a long time. I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Running a business isn’t just opening the doors and serving food. It’s the finances, staff, bills, suppliers, problems every bloody day… the list goes on.

For the first time in a long time, I’m looking forward to not having all of that responsibility and stress sitting on my shoulders.

It hurts to let go, but sometimes letting go is exactly what you need. ❤️
