"What sort of pizza do you do mate?" Part 2: New York Inspired Pizza.
As well as our market style pizzas, we've recently started New York style slice bars at pubs, music venues, outside catering buffets and weddings as well when catering functions and events at The Back Room, Cottingham .
This style uses the same long fermented dough and pizza science to develop flavour and deliciousness, but uses strong bread flour, sugar and oil as well as water, yeast and salt. It's then baked at a lower temperature and for longer at around 325ΒΊC for 5mins, allowing the dough to brown evenly, creating a thin and crispy pizza pie.
Inspired by the slice bars and delis in New York and by our absolute favourite pizza joint in the world Magic Johnβs in Berlin, we pre-bake our NY inspired pizzas before events and then load with all sorts of far out toppings to order, serving up pizza by the slice and full 12" pies in under 4mins!
Watch this space though as we have a new oven on the way and will be slinging massive slices and 18" pies at The Back Room in the very near future with regular slice bars open for walk-ups!
As usual, we offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, sauces for crust dippage and an ever changing specials menu, keeping it fresh.
