This might just look like an unassuming jar of oranges, but it’s actually the leftovers from our garnishes at the bar.

But we don’t throw them away, our juicy leftovers are topped up with cider vinegar and left for a month to infuse to create a zesty, orangey pickle.

Perfect for shrub cocktails or an alternative to brine in a dirty martini.

Shades of Autumn. Pumkins, squashes, onions and corn, all ready to go into our seasonal tasting menu.

Snacks. Served to every guest enjoying our seasonal tasting menu and probably the freshest, sweetest, tangiest, and tastiest snacks you’ve ever had (probably) with vegetables fresh from the grounds, our lovely hens eggs, house made pickles and preserves, and our daily made porridge sourdough. Perfect.

As the nights slowly get darker we’re bringing things indoors with our super seasonal supper clubs! These dinners are all about celebrating the right produce at the right time of year and everything you eat, whether it’s from our very own grounds or Britain’s land and sea, will be as fresh and as flavourful as it can be. Mark your diaries!

5th October… is when lots of native British seafood and shellfish are in season, so you can expect a 4-course set menu full of flipping great fish.

2nd November… marks the end, and best time, of the game season. Join us for a 4-course feast that brings out the best of the wild British larder: grouse, venison, jugged hare… We’re bringing our A-game.

For more details, menus and how to book see our link in bio.

All eyes on Ewe! (Get it?) - our Southdown sheep here at Birch (Cheshunt) thrive on a wild diet of various grasses, have access to browse our deciduous hedgerows, and are also partial to the occasional turnip top! Be sure to keep your eyes out as they graze across our back lawn.

Look out for a familiar Birch face popping up on this evening. Check out our very own .gill.food on BBC One at 9pm! ...
