Another wonderful and inspiring morning spent with the incredible teaching and talent of Richard Crabtree.

This mornings session was all about creating atmosphere within a painting; moody skies, crisp frosty mornings and bright autumn afternoons when the sky begins to break on the horizon and the sunlight streams through the trees.

These sell out classes from Richard are an absolute joy to be part of and we are hoping to introduce a second Thursday class in the New Year, for all of the people who weren’t able to join this terms classes.

Please get in touch if you’d like to be added to the waiting list and don’t forget Richard will be showcasing his work with a live painting session on Saturday 14th November from 10am onwards.

Award winning author Anna B*k will be at The Talbot on Saturday 14th November to talk about her book, It’s Never Really Over.

The book follows the lives of five women and the connections that quietly link them together. It’s a story of hope and changed fortunes, love, life and loss.

Anna and Jody met at an advertising agency where they both worked in the early 2000’s. It was a hot house of talent and creativity - and lots of hard work, laughter and fun.

They’ve quietly championed each other over the years and when the opportunity has arisen to shout about each other’s successes they’ve always been there for each other.

We really hope you’ll be able to come along on 14th November for Coffee, Cake and Conversation when Jody interviews Anna at The Talbot Chaddesley Corbett.

The bar is open this evening for a cold Hawkstone B**r, a nice glass of red or one of famous Espresso Martinis.

We always say this place comes into its own during the cold winter months with all its twinkly lights and pretty beams. Rumour has it the open fire might be making an appearance soon too. Watch this space 👀

Don’t forget we have food on this evening with some authentic Turkish Meze dishes, salads, kebabs and sweet treats.

A date for your diary….

Our Artist in Residence, Richard Crabtree will be with us on the morning of 14th November to showcase some his latest work and talk us through his creative design process when he begins a new piece.

From colours used to composition and techniques, Richard will be explaining more about how he works and giving an insight into why he is such a hugely popular teacher as well as an accomplished artist in his own right.

We’re thrilled to have Richard with us on 14th November and he will be bringing a section of original artwork, prints and cards which will be available to purchase on the day.

It’s the start of half term and we have some great things planned this weekend at The Talbot.

Saturday 24th October

Couch to 5k Club - 9.30am - no cost
Aimed at people new to running and those more experienced. It’s a really friendly group where we explore lots of great local routes with personal trainer, Dawn and a crowd of regular runners, joggers and walkers. Go at your own pace and enjoy getting fit alongside a motivating group of like minded people.

Turkish Food Night from 5pm
Expect lots of classic meze dishes including the Arzu special at just £10, delicious kebabs and flat breads as well as some vegetarian dishes and sweet treats to finish.

We have a selection of Cherry on the top cakes and bakes so if you’re passing and fancy something sweet, you’re at the right place.

Christmas party bookings are coming in thick and fast so if you’re planning to get together with extended family and friends over Christmas or are looking for a venue for a staff party please get in touch.
Saturday availability is very limited now but there are still some Thursdays and Fridays at the moment.

Come in and see us. We’re dog friendly, have plenty of space for bikes if you’ve cycled to us and a large car park too.

Our Tuesday morning Art Class is off to a flying start with lots of beautiful pumpkin paintings this week.

The class runs each Tuesday 10am-12.30am and js £125 for 6 weeks with a coffee included with each session.

There are still a couple of spaces available if you’ve been thinking about signing up and haven’t got around to it yet.

The class is run by Tamara who has been been an art teacher for 15 years and has a particular interest in working with acrylic paint.
