Thanks for all the hard work from our volunteers at Repair Cafe on Saturday, and our amazing hosts at Project 229 for taking care of us! Our volunteers offer their time for free, to give back to the community and help the environment 💚

❗️There was quite the queue at 10am when we opened- please be aware that between 10 and 11am you WILL have to wait- possibly up to an hour for popular fixes (e.g. electrical items). Please also note we cannot sharpen tools :)

Did you know we are giving away free vouchers from the Electrical Safety First Grant (via Bedford Borough Council). If your essential electrical item cannot be fixed, we can give you £10 on the day! Check out the post for eligibility!

Next Bedford Repair Cafe is this Saturday 13 June!
Venue: Project 229 on Bedford Road, Kempston MK42 8DA

Any time between 10am and 3pm (last walk in is 2.30) and get one item per household repaired for free, by local volunteers. No need to book.

We can fix textiles, bikes, woodworking and small electricals. One item per household can be looked at by our volunteers- please do not bring multiple items to be chosen from 🙂

Please allow time to wait and queue, staying with your item- you cannot drop off items and come back. *Tip- our quieter times tend to be after 12pm!*

Next Bedford Repair Cafe is Saturday 13 June!
Venue: Project 229 on Bedford Road, Kempston MK42 8DA

Come along any time between 10am and 3pm (last walk in is 2.30) to get one item per household repaired for free, by local volunteers. No need to book.

We can fix textiles, bikes, woodworking and small electricals. One item per household can be looked at by our volunteers- please do not bring multiple items to be chosen from 🙂 Remember to bring plugs, spare parts etc!

Parking is on nearby streets, or feel free to use the forecourt if you have accessibility needs.

We are pleased to announce at tomorrow's Repair Cafe (25/4/2026) we will have vouchers available to help replace your broken (essential) electrical items. If our volunteers can't fix your item safely, just speak to our front of house team and we can give you a £10 voucher.

A huge thanks to Bedford Borough Council who are working hard to spread the word about electrical safety and fuel poverty, who invited us to be part of this project, which was funded by Electrical Safety First.
