Did you ever work at Higherford Mill?

We are looking for your memories which would feature on the forthcoming new website for Heritage Trust North West.

We are interested in finding more about the history of the mill.

We wish to gather oral histories and interview people who have knowledge or connections to the mill, along with any relevant historic photographs.

The aim is to bring all of this information together to create a comprehensive portfolio of the mill’s history for people to explore and learn more about.

Secrets of mother nature will be lost if we don’t pass them down to the next generation? 🍃

Imagine a world where you find medicine in your garden or growing wild?

Kids wellbeing and their appreciation of nature is more important than ever! 🍃

So…a child friendly foraging session has been added to the Wylde Blossom wellness festival for the 3rd year, on Sunday 2nd August .

It really is something that our young ones and adults can enjoy together! 🍄

We also have a kids and adult drumming workshop AND a belly dancing taster session too.

Our foraging sessions at still priced (3 years later) at just £8 per person to make it affordable and accessible for all.

From 11am - 12.30pm the very knowledgeable Pete from Pendle Plant Craft (and author), will be sharing his seasonal foraging tips and advice 🌿

What to expect on the walk:

🍃 An enchanting taster session for kids and adults, immersed in nature’s bounty
🍃 Uncover some natural hidden treasures within the undergrowth
🍃 Learn about the uses and healing benefits of these medicinal plants, trees and mushrooms and the benefits of foraging in general.
🍃 Bring a notebook and pencil to make a note of their findings or draw pictures
🍃 You may even get try a few tasty treats along the journey
🍃 Reconnecting with nature has a very positive impact mentally, helping to reduce stress and anxiety
🍃 Learn about the positive impact these plants have on our planet
🍃 It’s an easy walk in the local park area
