During our humble three months of opening, one of the questions we get asked the most is: “Where are your curtains from?” We thought this would be the perfect time to share their story and how they found their place here at Lagom.
The curtains travelled all the way from Hanoi, Vietnam, tucked inside our luggage. They were created by .indigodye , a local studio whose work focuses on natural dyeing and thoughtfully crafted textiles made from locally sourced materials. Their pieces reflect the beauty of traditional craftsmanship, natural textures, and the unique colours that come from organic dye sources.
As our space is super tiny, we wanted to create a sense of layers and softness while adding a little character to the space. The entrance curtain is made using tơ sống (raw silk) from Nam Cao, Vietnam. Its lightweight weave creates a gentle separation between inside and outside, offering a touch of privacy while still allowing light to pass through and curious passersby to catch a glimpse of the space.
