Our nursery in mid autumn.
At the end of October, a Vancouver garden is full of beautiful fall colors and crisp autumn air. The leaves on Japanese maple trees turn bright red and gold before dropping onto the wet green grass. Big rains make everything look fresh, and the remaining flowers, like hydrangeas, turn a soft paper-brown. Soft morning mist hangs over the yard, while bright purple berries and hardy winter flowers add pops of color. It is a quiet, peaceful time when the garden slowly gets ready for winter.
