Contrary to popular belief, an izakaya is not simply an “authentic Japanese restaurant.” The wonderful selection of foods is just half of the izakaya experience. Chocolate chip cookies without milk? • An izakaya is not the place to order one boring dish for yourself. The portions are a little smaller than what you might expect, but this is so that you can order plate after plate of great food, and share the feast with your friends!
• It’s easier to share a pitcher of Sapporo or a fine Japanese sake with a group.
• No indoor voices necessary here! (Even the servers are loud.) Now that you have a better understanding of a Japanese izakaya, why don’t you pop by DonDon and try it out?
