We’re very excited to share this coffee with you, Finca La Asunta is the first coffee we’ve sourced from Bolivia, and we couldn’t be happier to have it on our menu 🇧🇴
Producer Juan Carlos Huanca owns and manages Finca La Asunta, a seven-hectare farm in Bolivia’s Sud Yungas. After disease destroyed his first coffee plantation, Juan rebuilt from the ground up, planting Catuai and Gesha and applying everything he had learned to a new vision centered on specialty coffee.
Today, three hectares of the farm are dedicated to coffee, while citrus trees grow across the remaining land. In a region traditionally known for coca production, Juan’s work demonstrates how specialty coffee can support biodiversity and offer a sustainable path for local communities.
This 100% Gesha, grown at 1,550 masl, undergoes a precise 22-hour dry fermentation before drying on raised beds for seven days. The result is an elegant, creamy cup with notes of key lime pie, vanilla bean, and praline. bright citrus acidity balanced by silky sweetness and a long, delicate finish.
The label was created by Bolivian-Cuban-Spanish artist Aléna Lees. Inspired by life and nature, Aléna brings illustration, watercolor, and graphic design together to create a meeting place between her ideas and the world. Find more of her work at Aléna
