Bear Activity in the Area. Please read, share and use caution when outside, on the trails or driving around Telkwa!

BEAR ACTIVITY IN TELKWA
There have been multiple reports of bear activity in the area. Residents and visitors are encouraged to use extreme caution when using local trails or spending time outdoors.

Please help keep yourself, others, and wildlife safe:
• Make noise while travelling on trails, especially around corners and in areas with limited visibility.
• Travel in groups whenever possible and keep children and pets close.
• Carry bear spray and know how to use it.
• Stay alert and watch for signs of bear activity, including tracks, s**t, or disturbed vegetation.
• Never approach, follow, or feed a bear. Give wildlife plenty of space.
• Keep dogs on leash and under control.
• Secure garbage, food, pet food, and other attractants around your property.
• If you encounter a bear, remain calm, do not run, and slowly back away while giving the bear an escape route.

Please remain Bear Aware and consider avoiding trails or areas where recent bear activity has been reported.

The 114th Telkwa BBQ was a success!
A huge thank you to the BV Kinsmen, who put in countless hours, endless dedication, and so much community spirit to make this past weekend happen.

There are so many people, businesses, volunteers, performers, vendors, sponsors, and community members who deserve recognition for helping make the BBQ such a special event.

But today, let’s take a moment to appreciate the group that keeps this long-standing Telkwa tradition going year after year — the BV Kinsmen.

Your commitment to our community and to the Telkwa BBQ does not go unnoticed. Thank you for all the behind-the-scenes work, the planning, the early mornings, the long days, and the passion you bring to this event.

We’re grateful for everything you do to keep the BBQ tradition alive and bring our community together.

The 114th Annual Telkwa BBQ is the place to be! Music has started, Lots of vendors at the night market! Baseball, Pickleball and lots of community spirit! It's a beautiful evening Telkwa! Come join in on the fun!

For 114 years, the Telkwa BBQ has been a reason for people to come together.

This weekend the community will come alive with tournaments, the Grand Opening of the Multi-Sport Outdoor Courts, a Kids Zone, Night Market, live music, dancing, Beef on a Bun and plenty of opportunities to connect with friends, neighbours and visitors.

This is more than a BBQ.

It’s a day to experience Telkwa, celebrate our community and make memories together.

Tomorrow is the day.

We’ll see you there!

What’s a BBQ without great food and a good time?

This weekend make sure you get Beef on a Bun on Sunday, enjoy the live music, wander through the Night Market and take in everything happening throughout the day. Kids, make sure you check out the kid zone!

There will be plenty to keep the whole family entertained — and plenty of reasons to stay a little longer.

And when the daytime festivities wind down, the fun keeps going Saturday with live music at the BBQ grounds stage or dancing at the Telkwa Community Hall on Sunday.

Come hungry. Come ready to have some fun. Come celebrate 114 years of the Telkwa BBQ!
