The 3rd Annual Afro-Caribbean Festival of Central Alberta is super excited to introduce you all our MC, GeNie Baffoe is a freestyle Hip Hop dancer, DJ, Actor, MC and educator, from Montreal Québec.
He has been studying Hip Hop Culture and curating events for nearly 2 decades, teaching, performing and MC'ing all over the world.

GeNie is the co-creator and director of Our Scene the Movie, a documentary Film on the history of Winnipeg's Hip Hop Dance community.

The film can be viewed for free on YouTube. As an MC, GeNie has been on the mic since in High School getting his first reps as a master of ceremonies in front of the most unforgiving type of crowd.Teenagers. His ability to survive to tell the tale proved he was ready to take on any stage anywhere for any event. GeNie brings a high energy, charasmatic and off the cuff vibe to every event. Creating and feeding the room with information, moments, and color commentary backed by cultural knowledge and experience of the environment. GeNietheMC is here ready to let these jokes rip.

The team at Zainab's Coffee House wishes to thank our loyal customers and the community for their unwavering support since our launch in July 2024. Sadly, we are announcing the permanent closure of Zainab's Coffee House, as Zainab has opted to concentrate on the African Caribbean Centre, having faced challenges in running a new organization, coordinating festivals, projects, and services, in addition to the demands of operating the coffee house, resulting in the difficult decision to close the shop, and we appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.

Dear esteemed customers and community, we extend our sincerest gratitude for your unwavering support since our inception in July last year.

Our coffee house has been privileged to create numerous unforgettable memories and joy for the community.

However, as Zainab, the founder and executive director of the African Caribbean Centre of Central Alberta, prepares to spearhead the Afro-Caribbean Festival of Central Alberta, scheduled to take place on August 9th and 10th in downtown Red Deer, we will be adjusting our operation hours. From Monday to Friday, we will be closed start this Monday, July 7th to Aug 11th, 2025.

We are partially open on Wednesdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, Fridays from 5 pm to 1 am, Saturdays from 10 am to 1 am, and Sundays from 12 pm to 6 pm, until the festival concludes on August 10th, 2025.
