We’re open 7 days a week, 5–8pm, so make plans to join us for dinner in Gros Morne this fall.

🍂Thanksgiving in the Harbour 🍂

We’ll be serving up our annual Thanksgiving turkey dinner again this year at Black Spruce Restaurant.

You can keep it simple with just our traditional turkey dinner, or make a full evening of it and enjoy our three-course Thanksgiving dinner.

Come enjoy a nice dinner and leave the cooking, dishes and cleanup to us.☺️

Meet Brianna Hann (right) & Aliya Dennis (left)

Chef Brianna Hann 👩‍🍳
Brianna is one of our chefs at Black Spruce and is currently in her second year at Holland College Culinary Institution. A true Newfoundlander through and through, Brianna grew up in Woody Point and is a proud member of the Newfoundland Indigenous Peoples Alliance.

Her love of cooking started in the kitchen with her Nan, and that passion has grown from there. Brianna is always eager to learn, try new things and take on a challenge. She has been such a joy to work with, and we absolutely loved having her on our team!

Outside the kitchen, Brianna loves playing piano and guitar and riding horses. We were so sad to see her go, but you never know, maybe we’ll see her back behind the line at Black Spruce someday! Wishing you a successful school year and a great year ahead, Brianna. Thank you. 🤍

Pastry Chef Aliya Dennis 🍰
Aliya is our talented Pastry Chef and a Holland College graduate. She was drawn to pastry because of the creativity it allows, especially playing with new flavours and creating dishes that are both beautiful and delicious.

Originally from Toronto, moving to remote Newfoundland was quite the change, but Aliya jumped right into life here and quickly became such an important part of our kitchen team. Her first job as a pastry chef was at a gluten-free bakery, and she has brought so much creativity, care and talent to everything she creates here at Black Spruce.

Outside of work, Aliya enjoys reading and hiking, which means she’s had plenty of beautiful trails to explore.

We’ve had such a great season with these two young, talented women. We’re so grateful for everything they’ve brought to Black Spruce this 2026 season and wish them both the very best ❤️

Meet Austin Major, a valued member of our kitchen team

Austin has been part of our team at Black Spruce Restaurant for 4 seasons, and we couldn’t be happier to have him in our kitchen.

A graduate of Holland College’s Culinary Institute, Austin is currently working towards his Red Seal certification. Becoming a chef has always been something he’s wanted to do, and it really shows in the care and pride he puts into his work.

Austin is one of those people who is genuinely kind, friendly, and always willing to lend a hand. He’s dedicated, hardworking, and truly appreciates the work he gets to do. We especially love seeing him come up with new and fun features for Black Spruce and they’ve always been such a tasty treat for our guests.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Austin enjoys board games, spending time with friends, and, according to the team, he makes a pretty wicked beach fire.🔥

We’re lucky to have Austin as part of our kitchen team and can’t wait to see where his culinary career takes him.

Meet Chris Welsh, our Head Chef at the Black Spruce Restaurant

Chris has been part of our team at Black Spruce Restaurant for the past 8 years. A Red Seal Certified Chef, Chris completed his culinary training at Holland College and has worked alongside Chef Jason Lynch over the years to create the menus our guests have come to know and love.

His love for cooking started at home, helping his mom in the kitchen when he was just a boy. He started his career in the industry as a dishwasher and worked and studied his way up to becoming our Head Chef.

Even though the Black Spruce Restaurant isn’t open year-round, Chris stays busy through the winter. He heads to Nova Scotia to train with Chef Jason Lynch, develop new ideas, and work on the fresh, creative menus we bring to life each season.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Chris enjoys rec hockey, recently picked up golf, and loves foraging for fresh ingredients to bring something unique to our dishes. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young children, which definitely keeps him busy.

Chris brings so much more than his experience to our kitchen. His kindness, hard work, and dedication to his team are a huge part of what makes him such an important part of Black Spruce. We’re incredibly grateful to have him leading our kitchen and so happy to have had him with us for the past 8 years.😊👏

Meet Pam & Alyson

This is their first season with us at Neddies Harbour Inn, and we absolutely couldn’t be happier to have them on our team at the front desk.

Pam is one of those people who has a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. She’s a mother, a great listener, and someone who always seems to have time for the people around her. When she’s not at the Inn, you’ll often find her in her garden or spending time with her family, whether that’s a family dinner or a fire on the beach. She’s definitely the one who keeps everyone connected in her family!

Then there’s Alyson, who brings plenty of laughs and personality wherever she goes. She’s kind, funny, creative, and always up for a good conversation. She’s talented with both the ukulele and guitar, knows her way around the kitchen, and loves getting outside for a little bird watching.

Both Pam and Alyson genuinely love meeting new people, and that’s something we’re lucky to have at the Inn. So when you walk through our doors, don’t be shy! Come say hello, ask a question, or have a chat. They’ll be happy to meet you and help make you feel right at home.

We’re so glad Pam and Alyson chose to spend their first season with us, and we’re hoping it’s just the beginning of many more to come! We’re so happy to have them as part of the Neddies family. Welcome, Pam & Alyson

Happy Hour is back this Thursday, August 6th!

Join us from 3:00pm – 4:40pm for an afternoon of great music, drinks, and incredible views. Live music will take place from 3:30pm – 4:30pm featuring the lovely Hughena Gennoe.

We’ll have drinks available, and as a little treat, we’ll be bringing out some complimentary snacks to enjoy while you relax.

Come visit us, take in the stunning views from our back deck overlooking Bonne Bay, the Tablelands, and S**g Cliff, and enjoy a beautiful afternoon at Neddies Harbour Inn.

Meet Jennifer (Jen) — Manager of The Spa at Neddies

Today we’re introducing the wonderful person behind The Spa at Neddies.

Jennifer has been with Neddies Harbour Inn for 8 years and brings nearly 22 years of experience in the esthetics industry. With her education in business, skin therapy, and esthetics, Jen’s passion for wellness and caring for others shines through in everything she does.

Originally from the East Coast, Jennifer made the move to the West Coast and quickly discovered what so many of us already know, it really is the best coast.

Outside of the spa, Jen loves travelling, hiking, and spending time exploring the beauty around her. She is also a talented writer and recently published her first children’s book, “Meet Tucker the Goldendoodle,” which is available at The Old Store Gift & Ice Cream Shop.

We’re so proud to have Jennifer as part of our Neddies family. Her passion, creativity, and dedication make The Spa at Neddies such a special part of our guest experience.
