Last week, we put three bartenders to the test at our first Last Call: Black Box Bartending Competition, and let’s just say… things got interesting. 👀

Massive thanks to Born to Shake or teaming up with up for the event! Their amazing products they provided for the competition provided the bartenders with a hefty selection.

Each bartender was given a mystery spirit + mystery ingredient and had to turn the two into a cocktail. The combinations?
🥃 Miso paste + wh***ey
🍵 Matcha powder + white rum
🫐 Gin + Black Currant Jam

We also had shared appies hitting the tables throughout the night, and we have to say… YUM. 🤤

And now for the important part…

🏆 Congratulations to Mitch, our Black Box champion! His mystery pairing of miso paste + wh***ey took the win!

A huge thank you to all three of our bartenders for jumping into the challenge, getting creative, and trusting us enough to let us hand them some truly questionable ingredient combinations. 😂 You all brought something different to the competition and made it such a fun night.

And of course, thank you to everyone who came out, cheered on our bartenders, tasted, voted, and made the night what it was.

👏 STAFF APPRECIATION: DONNY 👏

20 years. That’s a lot of dishes, a lot of hard work, and a whole lot of Donny. 😂

For those of you who already know Donny, you know that a little staff appreciation post like this is never going to do him justice.

For two decades, Donny has been a dedicated part of our kitchen team, taking care of the dishes and doing his part to keep things moving behind the scenes. He’s a character, he’s one of a kind, and he’s brought plenty of personality to our kitchen over the years.

Twenty years as our dishwasher is no small thing, and we’re incredibly grateful for the dedication and hard work he’s given us throughout the years.

Thanks for 20 years, Donny. We’re lucky to have you! ❤️
