I kept delaying this cake — not because I didn’t have time,
but because I was avoiding something I had never done before.
The cedar bark texture.
In my mind, it felt complicated.
Something that could easily go wrong.
So I pushed it.
Until I finally had to do it.
And just like that… it was simple.
That moment reminded me of something bigger:
We don’t procrastinate because we’re lazy.
We procrastinate because something feels unfamiliar.
And instead of trying once…
we build it up in our minds.
This applies to everything.
Starting something new.
Taking a step forward.
Even becoming who we want to be.
Most of the time, it’s not actually hard.
It’s just new.
And new feels uncomfortable.
