🚚 FOOD TRUCK SEASON IS COMING… LET’S TALK REALITY 🇨🇦
Event organizers we love coming to your events. Food trucks bring great food, atmosphere, and help make events memorable.
But there are a few things people don’t always realize about running a food truck.
If you support food trucks, give this a share.
🚚 1. Food trucks aren’t cheap to run.
Most trucks or trailers cost $40,000–$100,000+ before we even start serving food. Add insurance, permits, equipment, inventory, branding, and a tow vehicle… it adds up fast.
🚚 2. Not every person at your event buys food.
On average only 10–20% of attendees will actually purchase something.
So if you have 1,000 people, that usually means 100–200 customers total.
🚚 3. Too many trucks = nobody makes money.
If you expect 1,000 people, booking 6–7 food trucks doesn’t create variety… it creates a loss for everyone.
A smart mix is usually one main truck, one snack truck, and one dessert truck.
🚚 4. Duplicate trucks hurt small businesses.
You don’t need 3 BBQ trucks or 4 shaved ice vendors at the same event.
It’s okay to say: “Sorry, we already have that cuisine covered.”
🚚 5. A 4-hour event isn’t a 4-hour job.
Between prep, shopping, cooking, travel, setup, service, and cleanup… most events are 10–12 hour workdays.
🚚 6. Parking us isn’t like parking cars.
Trucks and trailers need space to safely open windows, doors, and emergency exits plus room for generators and equipment.
🚚 7. Permits and licences are real costs in Canada.
Many cities require local business licences, health permits, and event permits often on top of vendor fees.
🚚 8. Fuel and operating costs are climbing again.
Gas, propane, tires, repairs, staff… it all adds up. That’s why some trucks require a guaranteed minimum for certain events.
🚚 9. We might sell out.
Our kitchens are tiny and storage space is limited. When we run out, it’s usually because the event was busy which is a good problem!
🚚 10. Want food trucks at your event? Help us help you.
When reaching out, please include:
• Date & time

Food trucks are small family businesses, not big corporations. When events are planned properly, everyone wins organizers, vendors, and guests.
🇨🇦 Support local. Support food trucks. And please share so more organizers understand how this works.
For the food truck sell quality your name will thrive it takes time don’t think it happens in one season!
