There are no words for how amazing these donuts are! And completely plant-based! This is a vegan must-stop if you’re in Barrie. .ca - we’ve tried many vegan donuts over the years and these are hands down the best we’ve tried. I wished we lived closer, but I think that would become problematic very quickly. Soooo good!

This was a REALLY tasty salad! Roasted squash in berbere spice, chickpeas in charmoula (kind of like a Moroccan pesto), millet, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, pomegranate seeds and a drizzle of maple vinaigrette. Yummers!

Pizza night! Homemade whole wheat focaccia crust and sauce, chorizo, cheese and a ton of veggies. I’m going to miss this when G goes back to work!

Cheers to a lovely Christmas...even if it’s been a little different this year. Our recipe for a great holiday dinner: An Apple Cider Fizz (from ), mushroom & lentil Wellington with green onion mashed potatoes and rutabaga, and our favourite Christmas movie. Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is having a safe long weekend full of deliciousness and all the comforts of fall. Our feast was maple-herb basted sweet potato skewers, chick’n, dressing, rutabaga and garlicky kale and Brussel sprouts. We paired that with a very tasty vermouth, lemon and apple cider cocktail and sleepy, happy puppies! 🐾🥃🍁

I always love when G is home for the day - his dinners are far better than mine are! Inspired by one of the dishes at - this was sorrel-pesto rice with a hint of jalapeño hot sauce, massaged baby kale in a lemon vinaigrette, radish slices and pan-seared asparagus. This was SO good...I’m going to miss this when the summer really kicks in and I go back to making myself endless salads and avocado toast.

There are days when I’m totally grateful for our insane supply of cookbooks...today is one of those days. Three different books, three new and incredibly tasty Indian dishes: brown lentils with chaat masala, dry okra and coconut and sweet and sour butternut squash.

It’s a little weird to celebrate a birthday during all of this, but a day of hiking, pizza and cake, was a pretty great way to do it 😊. And it gave us an excuse to finally make Raspberry Blackout Cake from Vegan with a Vengeance (which was delicious!). @ Fenelon Falls, Ontario

Spent an hour foraging for wild leeks this morning (there are tons this year!) with the furry kids. The bugs aren’t out yet, but the snakes are (I know because I stepped on one...and yelled...and ran)...so no more leeks for us. But the few that we got made for a delicious leek and potato soup with our latest round of homemade sour dough. @ Fenelon Falls, Ontario
