Spaces are still available for the Food Handlers Training right here at the Placencia Community Center next week so register for your spot today! First time students will attend the morning session 8:30-noon and those whom just need a renewal can attend the quicker afternoon session beginning at 1pm.
Cost is $20 for BTIA members and $30 for non-members. Sign up and pay through the Tourism Information Center on the sidewalk near the Point or call 624-2100 or 523-4045
Deadline to register is Wednesday April 15 at 4pm so don’t delay

Placencia Tourism Stakeholders- Who is interested in attending this FREE seminar in Belize City? If we have enough interest, the BTIA is happy to arrange a shared shuttle to and from the event. (If you’ve attended conferences or trainings in the past and car pooled with us you know these trips are also wonderful networking and brainstorming sessions too!). Global Tourism Resilience Day | Caribbean Leadership in Action

In recognition of Global Tourism Resilience Day, the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), in collaboration with CHTA, will host a webinar on Tuesday, February 17th at 9:30am EST/10:30am AST highlighting how tourism-dependent economies are strengthening resilience through policy, partnerships, innovation, and sustainable growth.



The session will showcase Caribbean leadership and practical approaches that go beyond crisis response — addressing investment readiness, environmental stewardship, human capital development, and technology as drivers of long-term transformation. CHTA will be represented by Sanovnik Destang, CHTA President, Nicola Madden-Greig, CHTA Immediate Past President and Vanessa Ledesma, CEO.

We'd like to thank all of the peninsula restaurants that participated in Placencia Restaurant Week 2025 and there were many outstanding dishes and delicious menus but diners have named their favorites. This year we would like to recognize Azure del Mar with their table top Korean BBQ as the People Choice for Lunch and Muna Rooftop Restaurant at The Ellysian Hotel as the People's Choice for Dinner.
