Vargo has informed me that you cannot call it a proper Bahamian Rake ‘n Scrape Sunday BBQ without fried snapper.

Apparently this is not a suggestion.

Apparently I am merely here to make Facebook posts. 😂

So… FRIED SNAPPER HAS ENTERED THE CHAT. 🐟🔥🇧🇸

Crispy whole fried snapper with peas n’ rice, baked macaroni and coleslaw.

Because evidently chicken alone was about to get our Bahamian citizenship revoked. 🤣

Around 2. Until it gone.

And judging by the way Vargo is carrying on about this snapper…

I wouldn’t fool around with the “around” part. 😂

😂 WELL… LOOK WHAT Y’ALL DONE STARTED.

Sunday BBQ was supposed to be a little guest appearance. One Sunday. Cute. Casual. Everybody go home.

Apparently nobody consulted y’all. 🤣

We got regulars asking when the BBQ coming back, people carrying on about the food, and Vargo had the absolute audacity to think he was spending Sunday in the backhoe.

Sir. Come outta dat machine. We have people to feed. 😂

🔥 SUNDAY BBQ IS BACK! 🔥

Grilled chicken, baked macaroni, peas n’ rice, coleslaw and potato salad — a proper Sunday plate with absolutely no concern for whatever diet you claimed you were starting Monday.

We start “around 2.”

Not 2:00.
Not 2:15.
Around 2.

This is Eleuthera. Please govern yourselves accordingly. 🤣🌴

And we close the BBQ when the food runs out.

So don’t come breezing through at 5-something talking ’bout, “Lemme get two BBQ plates.”

Two WHAT?? 😭🤣

Come early. Come hungry. Grab a cold drink. Eat by the water. And if Vargo starts talking about needing to get back to work, just point him toward the grill.

Apparently Rake ‘n Scrape Sunday BBQ is a thing now.

🌴 APPARENTLY WE HAVE REPEAT OFFENDERS. 😂❤️

A year ago, one of these couples came to Eleuthera, climbed aboard the Tipsy Turtle Tiki Boat with us, spent the afternoon cruising around paradise and somehow ended up eating Vargo’s homemade island-style curried fish.

We thought everyone had a lovely time.

They apparently went home and RECRUITED. 🤣🤣🤣

Because this year they came back WITH FRIENDS.

And there were demands.

The Tiki Boat.
The Glass Window.
THE CURRY.

So yesterday we did what any responsible hospitality professionals would do…

We put everybody on a Tiki Boat and started drinking. 🤣🐢🍹

We spent the afternoon cruising, swimming, laughing, showing off our ridiculously beautiful little corner of Eleuthera and generally behaving like nobody had anywhere particularly important to be.

Because they didn’t. 😂

Then we brought the whole crew back to the Glass Window, where Vargo had the requested homemade island-style curried fish waiting.

And judging by those plates, apparently nobody hated it. 😂🤣

Seriously… LOOK at them. Not a grain of rice left with enough dignity to tell the story. 🤣🍽️

We considered asking for a formal review, but honestly, four clean plates feels legally binding. 😂

And THIS is where we get a little serious.

We don’t want you to feel like a customer here.

We want you to pull up a chair.

Stay too long.

Laugh too loud.

Ask Vargo what’s cooking.

Order another drink.

And leave feeling like you somehow acquired a slightly dysfunctional Bahamian family while you were on vacation. 😂❤️🇧🇸

Because beautiful beaches are easy to find around here.

It’s the people you remember.

And when somebody comes back a YEAR later, brings their friends and essentially says, “Do exactly what you did last time”…

Well, we’re calling that a five-star review without all the paperwork. 🤣🤣🤣

WELL… WE SUPPOSE IT’S TIME TO ADDRESS THE CATS. 😂🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

For the past several days, two tiny black creatures have been quietly appearing in photos around the Glass Window.

Under tables.
On chairs.
Generally behaving as though they pay rent.

A few of you noticed.

Most of you apparently looked directly at them and carried on discussing pizza, empty chairs and our questionable management practices. 🤣

We have been attempting not to acknowledge the situation because acknowledging them makes this feel dangerously close to admitting that WE HAVE CATS NOW.

And we’re not quite emotionally prepared for that. 😂

But after a week of gray skies, rain, thunder and some of the most spectacularly dark and stormy weather we’ve seen in a while…

two tiny black kittens somehow became part of the Glass Window cast.

So really…

what else were we supposed to call them?

Meet DARK & STORMY. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🌩️🍹

They have apparently appointed themselves to several positions within the company, none of which were advertised.

Dark specializes in disappearing for extended periods and returning whenever she feels like it.

Stormy has discovered that cuddling the humans results in preferential treatment and is exploiting this information shamelessly.

Neither has completed an application.

Neither has attended orientation.

Neither appears concerned.

And judging by the way they’ve settled in…

we suspect eviction proceedings would be unsuccessful. 🤣

So yes, Vickie.
Yes, Vincent.

🚨 WE MAY HAVE FOUND A SMALL FLAW IN OUR BUSINESS PLAN. 😂

Remember when half the island started closing for the end-of-season break and we proudly announced:

WE’RE STAYING OPEN! 🌴🍹

Everyone cheered.

Everyone told us how happy they were.

Everyone said what a GREAT idea it was.

There was just one tiny detail nobody mentioned…

WE APPARENTLY ALSO NEED CUSTOMERS. 🤣🤣🤣

It is currently so quiet at the Glass Window that we have reached the point where we’re considering assigning names to the empty chairs.

Vargo is finding things to do (not surprising) and Christine is having a one sided conversation with the tequila bottle 😅 while staring at this ridiculously calm blue water wondering why she’s sitting on THIS side of the railing. 🌊😩

The kitchen is open.

The drinks are cold.

The view is showing off.

The sea looks like somebody ironed it.

And apparently every single person in Eleuthera has made other plans. 😂

So this is now an official public service announcement:

COME BOTHER US.

Have lunch. Have a drink. Sit by the water. Tell us a story. Give Vargo something to cook. Prevent Christine from abandoning her post and going swimming. 😂🍹

We don’t even need ALL of you.

At this point, three people arriving at the same time will be considered a rush. 🤣🤣🤣

And frankly, Vincent Lanteri and Vickie Balogh Tombrello, we need to discuss your performance.

You two spend an extraordinary amount of time supervising this establishment from Facebook, yet NEITHER ONE OF YOU is currently sitting at this bar. 🤨😂

This is unacceptable.

Please arrange transportation to Eleuthera immediately. ✈️🤣

We realize this may involve airfare, passports, accommodations and several wildly impractical logistical decisions…

but we’re slow and prepared to make this your problem. 🤣🤣🤣❤️

And YES, we know the Poker Run Challenge is NEXT SATURDAY and apparently we’ve managed to organize an entire north Eleuthera wide event involving five stops, poker hands, challenges, prizes and enough moving parts to make us question our own judgment. ♠️♥️♣️♦️😂

But that is NEXT Saturday.

WE NEED PEOPLE THIS SATURDAY. 🤣

So along the way, there will be four challenges where teams can earn points toward becoming our first Poker Run Challenge Champions.

The times are participation windows—not everybody-arrive-and-leave-at-once times. Get to each location anytime during its designated window, draw your card, take on the challenge, grab something to eat or drink, laugh at your friends and move along at your own pace.

Every player gets their own five-card poker hand, even when registered as part of a team. But bringing friends gets you a discounted entry and another way to win.

Just a friendly reminder that Vargo has apparently decided he didn’t have enough to do this weekend… so the Bahamian BBQ is happening TODAY starting at 2p….ish😂

🚨 WELL THIS IS GETTING DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO ORGANIZATION. 😂

We’re not entirely sure how this happened.

A few days ago we announced that while half the island is taking a little end-of-season nap, WE’RE STAYING OPEN. 🌴🍹

Then somebody had the bright idea to make pizza.

So now apparently Friday & Saturday nights are Pizza at the Bridge. 🍕🌊

Then Vargo got involved.

Which means the smoker is coming out Sunday, the Rake & Scrape is going on, and now we have Bahamian BBQ at the Bridge. 🇧🇸🔥🎶

Do you see what’s happening here?

WE HAVE A SCHEDULE. 😳

This is deeply concerning. 🤣🤣🤣

At this rate, somebody is going to suggest a staff meeting, and frankly we’re not prepared for that level of professionalism.

So, for anyone trying to keep track of our sudden and completely unexpected outbreak of organization:
