In Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, Food for the Hungry’s CEO Mark Viso and Chief Programs and Public Resource Officer Kate visited newly installed WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) facilities, providing clean water and promoting better hygiene practices for local families. They also engaged with mothers and children about better food practices and nutrition. These essential services are improving health, one community at a time.

Two health facilities from FH Bangladesh JRRP are selected for 18 months long survey on severe pneumonia. On June 9, 2024, a team of senior delegates from icddr,b, ideSHi and Science Magazine visited camp 5 FH PHC (Primary Health Care Center) as well as other health facilities located in different camps to observe the current trends of diarrheal diseases, respiratory illnesses, especially the pneumonia situation. Dr. Firdausi Qadri, Senior Scientist & Acting Senior Director, Infectious Diseases Division, icddr,b and Chairman, ideSHi led this team. Dr. Ashraful Islam Khan (Scientist, icddr,b), Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam (Associate Scientist, icddr,b) and Martin Enserink (Science Magazine) accompanied her on this visit.
