The Patio encourages all our patrons to make reservations 24 hours in advance. There is no cancellation fee and a credit card is required for parties of 8 persons or more. Please contact us if you wish to cancel your party’s reservation at your earliest opportunity. Lateness & No Shows
Please try to keep your reservation, be considerate, we know things happen so if you know you cannot make it please call and let us know. A table is deemed to be a “no show” if you are 15 minutes late for your reservation and have not contacted us. THE GOOD DATES GO QUIETLY.

Nobody announces that December is full. You simply ring in November and find that it is.

If there is an evening you already know you want — a company dinner, a milestone, a family who will all be on the island at the same time for once — this is the month to say so.

The Patio takes private tables and the full terrace, with a bespoke menu, a dedicated bar, and the discretion that comes from being inside a residence rather than on the open coast.

THE LAST TURNING.

Nobody finds The Patio by accident.

Inch Marlow is past the point where the coast road stops being a strip. The hotels thin out, the traffic goes, and then there is a turning that does not look as though it leads to a restaurant. Most people check the address twice.

Then a gate, a courtyard, a pool, and a terrace with the palms over it — and the thing guests say, almost without exception, is a version of the same sentence. They had no idea this was back here.

We have never tried to be somewhere you pass. The whole place was built on the opposite idea: that a meal is better when getting there was a decision rather than a convenience.

So yes, it is a drive. That is rather the point of it.

THE PART OF SUNDAY MOST PLACES CLOSE THROUGH.

The kitchen finishes at 2:30pm. The bar does not.

Between 2:30pm and 4:30pm there is a stretch of Sunday afternoon that belongs to whoever is still sitting down. The table cleared, the pool a few feet away, nothing to move on for, and nobody arriving to take your seat.

It is the best two hours of the week, and it is the part almost nobody thinks to stay for.

TWO NIGHTS A WEEK, AND THAT IS DELIBERATE.

The Patio serves dinner on Friday and Saturday only.

Not because the week is quiet, but because two nights is what it takes to cook everything to order for a terrace this size and still have the kitchen mean it.

Which makes the weekend tables finite. By Thursday we generally know how Friday and Saturday are shaping up, so if you want one, today is the day to say so.

Dinner — Friday and Saturday, 6:00pm to 11:00pm. Last seating 9:30pm.
Saturday is dinner only. There is no daytime service that day.

The rest of the week:

TABLE: TORTOLA, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

I have not been to this island yet.

That is rather the point of the board. Some of the tables are places I have been. Most are places I still intend to go, and naming a table after somewhere is how I remain intentional.

Tortola feels close — a neighbour, a few islands up — and still somewhere I have not made it to.

So if you have been, and there is somewhere I should eat when I go, take the Tortola table and tell me. I am collecting recommendations, slowly, one table at a time.
