🎙️ A little chat with ABC Darwin about the recent Google review situation.

Just to be clear I have absolutely no hate towards the vegan community. The actions of a few people don't represent an entire community. ❤️

We don't offer vegan items simply because we respect people's dietary choices, while also choosing what we want to serve at DNK.

Giving a restaurant 1 star because we don't offer the food you choose to eat makes about as much sense as giving a strip club 1 star because they don't sell iPads. 😂

We’ll keep doing what we do best cooking up mad feeds ❤️🔥

After getting a bad review online for not having any vegan options, one small business in the Top End has declared "don't get mad, get meat."

Say hello to Taniya… or as we call her at DNK, MEEK MEEK 🏃‍♀️💨
(Yep… like the Road Runner. You’ll understand once you see her moving around the restaurant 😂)

She also somehow managed to earn a SECOND nickname…

BUTTONS. 😂
Because apparently pressing the correct button is sometimes just a little too much to ask. 🤦‍♂️🤣

She's officially the fastest person in DNK history to earn a nickname. Actually… two nicknames. 😂

But all jokes aside, Taniya is an absolute weapon. 💪

She's hardworking, always keen to learn, always looking to improve, and somehow manages to be running around like she's late for a flight while still smiling. 😂

We genuinely love having her as part of the team and love watching her grow.

🚨 WE HAVE FOUND THE BAD INFLUENCE 😂🍔

They came to DNK for the FIRST TIME EVER…

And one of these champions looked at a 1.5KG burger and thought:

“Yeah boys… we can definitely do that.” 💀

Then somehow convinced the other two to join him. 🤣

So we have 3 suspects.
1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

The rules were simple:

🍔 1.5KG burger + chips
⏱️ Destroy it in 15 minutes
🎁 Burger FREE + $50 DNK voucher

The result?

ALL THREE GOT ABSOLUTELY HUMBLED. 😂😂😂
Not one of them finished it. Now we need YOUR help…

With everything that’s happened over the last couple of days, we think it’s only right to post this again.

Thank you to everyone who has shown us love, support and reached out. Honestly, so many of you did, and we genuinely appreciate it. ❤️

And I’ll say this again, because it’s important:

We respect every dietary choice. ❤️

The reason we don’t offer Vegan or Halal options at DNK is actually out of respect. We don’t want to simply tick a box on the menu while risking cross-contamination or not being able to genuinely meet those dietary requirements.

Respect should never be twisted into hate.

We’ll keep doing things the way we believe is right for our customers, our food and our kitchen. ❤️

I don't think it's professional to say “f*ck vegans” because of the actions of a few people. There are plenty of good people who are vegan, and we have absolutely nothing against them.

But if a group of people decides to f**k around with a small business I’ve spent years building, and try to push down the hard work of me and my team because of a “cause”. I’m not going to just sit quietly and let it happen.

Instead of spending $3,000+ on lawyers, I’m going to spend a little bit of that money on MORE MEAT. 😂
