Los días lluviosos para mí se sienten que corren más despacio, y me ponen en ánimo de cocinar.

Algo sencillo, muy casero y rico, es el picadillo Mexicano. Hoy lo acompañé de unos frijolitos de la olla recién hechos, tal y cómo lo servía una tía muy querida que tenía unos dotes culinarios extraordinarios. Hoy la recuerdo y la honro con este herencia gastronómica.

I don't know, but raining days inspires me to cook. And I decided to prepare this traditional Mexican Picadillo paired with freshly cooked beans, exactly as one of my aunties used to do it.

Today by cooking this delicious dish, I honour and celebrate my auntie's culinary heritage.

GUACAMOLE 💚

Next week is the Super Bowl and more than 132 thousand tons of Mexican avocado have been sent to US to make the traditional guacamole just on that day. Incredible, isn't? 😳😃

Also here in Australia, Guacamole is becoming a crowd fave on picnics and family reunions 💚👌🏼

PORK CARNITAS TACOS! If you have ever been in Mexico and eaten tacos, you might know they are normally, very simple. Basically, street tacos are made from an animal protein (beef, pork, lamb) seasoned with salt, and cooked in their own natural juices. That's it! There is nothing complicated or fancy here.

Then it comes to the salsas and to the taco condiments. Usually, there are at least two variations of salsas, one red one green. And of course, fresh onion, coriander and lime to topped your tacos with.

SOPITA DE PAPA! No saben lo feliz que me hace publicar esta receta, pues sé que para muchos de ustedes tiene un valor sentimental muy especial.

Me han compartido que les recuerda a mamá o que los remonta a su infancia. Y el leer estas historias me llena el alma.

Ella es originaria de Monterrey, Mexico y escribió este recetario como un legado para sus seres queridos y amigos. Our first recipe of the new year is a delicious Chicken Salad. This recipe is included in Auntie’s Mine (Minerva) recipe book that I just received as a gift. Auntie Mine is originally from Monterrey, Mexico, she is an extraordinary cook and she wrote a recipe book as a culinary legacy for her family and friends. I’ve had the fortune to try Auntie’s Mine cooking and all I can say is that her recipe book is an absolutely gem.

As I cook each of her recipes, I’ll be sharing them with you all here. I hope you get inspired to cook them and most importantly, that you enjoy them.

It's been almost a month since we launched our Salsa Macha, and we finally have some time to make a pause and reflect on what just happened.

First, from the bottom of my heart, I want to say THANK YOU for all your support (we had two consecutive SOLD OUT) and for giving me the opportunity to share part of my identity and my food culture. It's a dream come true for me. 🙏

Becoming an entrepreneur has been very challenging but also a very rewarding experience in my life. I faced some of my biggest fears, obstacles, and many doubts but I have also learned so much about different areas of expertise and most importantly, about myself. And I think that's wonderful .

There is still a lot to process and to reflect on this new experience, so we are now officially out of business until January 2022, for our next batch of Salsa Macha and other Mexican Delicacies to come! 🤗💪🏼

But for now, it's time to rest, recharge and enjoy the Christmas vibes. ✨🎄

Trío de Tacos de Lengua!

De mis tacos favoritos son los de lengua. Me gusta comerlos tal y como te los sirven en los puestos de tacos en México, con su cilantro y su cebolla frescos, una muy buena salsa, un poco de sal y limón. Nada más, para poder disfrutar el sabor de esta carne que es tan rica y suavecita.

My favourite taco ever, is the beef tongue taco. I really like eat them exactly as they are served in any taco stall in México, with fresh coriander and onion, a good sauce, a little bit of salt and lime. That's it, so you can really taste and enjoy the flavour and tenderness of this exotic meat.
