Stepping outside my comfort zone a little with this one 🤍
After being disappointed with how rushed my first tiered cake was, I really wanted to prove to myself what I could actually do with a bit more time, patience and creativity — and I couldn’t have asked for a more special cake to do it with than my best friend’s baby shower cake ✨
This two tiered vanilla beauty features a 3 layer 6 inch bottom tier filled with berry compote, paired with a 3 layer 5 inch top tier filled with tangy lemon curd 🍋 Covered in smooth buttercream and decorated with dehydrated lemons and piped berry compote for a simple but elegant finish.
To match, 24 vanilla mini cupcakes topped with lemon curd, berry compote and dehydrated lemons, plus a handful of gluten free/dairy free cupcakes too.
Dairy free baking was completely new territory for me, but I’m so happy with how everything turned out 🫶🏻 and who knows, I may add dairy free to the menu in the near future…..
