Supplier Spotlight: The Evoke Company

The best wedding days are the ones where you actually get to be present. Mathew Sacco makes that possible.

Mathew is the photographer behind The Evoke Company, based on the South Coast and shooting weddings across the Southern Highlands and beyond. His approach is refreshingly simple. Keep things easy, guide couples when it matters and step back when it does not. No over-direction, no moments that feel staged. Just a relaxed, considered presence that lets the day unfold naturally and captures it honestly as it does.

The goal, as Mathew puts it, is for couples to walk away not just with beautiful photos but with a day that genuinely felt good to be part of. That says everything about the kind of photographer he is.

We always love having him at Bendooley. The calm he brings to a wedding day is exactly what our couples deserve.

A reminder that next Friday evening, our Cellar Door transforms into something rather special.

An intimate dinner hosted by our winemaker and cellar door manager, where every course has been crafted to meet its wine and the stories behind each pour are as good as the wine itself. The kind of evening that is difficult to describe until you are in the room.

A handful of seats remain.

We knew The Homestead was something special. Belle Magazine agreed.

Designed with extraordinary intention by Katja Berkelouw in conjunction with Natalie Miller, The Homestead is one of three beautiful new stays here on the estate, and seeing it celebrated in the pages of Belle is a moment we are incredibly proud of. A huge thank you to the team at Belle for the most gorgeous feature.

Supplier Spotlight: Matt Ashton Photography

There are photographers who document a wedding day. And then there are the ones who truly feel it.

Matt Ashton falls firmly in the second category. Based on the South Coast with his wife Jess and their two kids, Matt came to wedding photography after a career as a builder, and six years and over five hundred weddings later, he is one of the most thoughtful and talented people we have the privilege of working with here at Bendooley.

Becoming a father changed how he sees this work. It made him more patient, more present and more protective of the moments that cannot be repeated. His approach is calm, unobtrusive and deeply human. By the time the day is in full swing, couples forget he is there at all. And that is exactly when he does his best work.

The in-between moments. The unspoken details. The full and honest picture of who two people are together on one of the most significant days of their lives.

We could not recommend him more.

Who says Christmas only comes once a year?

On Friday 24 July we are throwing open the doors of The Book Barn for Christmas in July at Bendooley Estate, and it is going to be a night to remember. Think roaring fires, festive eggnog on arrival, a magnificent table share Christmas feast, a dessert table, live music from Oberon Lane and a DJ to keep the dancing going long into the evening. Oh, and word has it a very special guest may be making an appearance.

The kind of winter night that makes you forget it was ever cold outside.

Thursday 25th June, the Vine Room at Bendooley Estate transforms into something altogether extraordinary.

RARE BIRD ensemble returns with Love and Forgetting, the cabaret dining experience that captivated our guests earlier this year. But a winter night at Bendooley is a different thing entirely. The fires will be burning and the Vine Room takes on a warmth that only comes when the cold sets in outside.

From your seat at the table, a bartender becomes a storyteller, carrying you through stories, songs and tall tales that move between the banks of the Murrumbidgee and the heights of Manhattan. A beautifully crafted three course dinner alongside it, and somewhere along the way the line between audience and evening quietly disappears.

This is not simply a show you watch. It is an evening you become part of.

Thursday 25 June. 6pm. $145 per person. We would love to see you there.

This one is for the book lovers.

In partnership with Gathered Retreats, we are hosting our very first Readers Retreat from Friday 3 to Monday 6 July. Four days built entirely around reading, rest and really good food. The kind of long weekend most of us have been meaning to give ourselves for a very long time.

Stay in The Homestead, dine in The Book Barn, lose yourself in the historic streets of Berrima and spend your evenings by the fire with a glass of Bendooley Estate wine and the company of people who love books as much as you do.
